The cola adds flavor and also acts as a tenderizer. In my opinion they will be ok but not as good without the cola.
TW, the reason I spelled "pour" por is because:
1) I live in Florida where it is hot most of the year so we shorten everything to conserve our energy.....
2) That is my form of speed writing....
or
3) I spelled it phonetically
but under no circumstances was that a mistake or typo
I had a hard time finding the hickory smoked salt so I used Morton Nature's Seasons Seasoning Blend for 1 batch and then I found the smoked salt at a Winn Dixie (not all of them carry this) and made another batch and the difference was really slight especially if you use a hickory smoked barbecue sauce.
