Other

I had to chose "Other". I did not leave voluntarily. I was asked by my pastor to leave. I may have still been a member of COGOP, otherwise. As a result I did not go to church at all for a number of years. I have been at my current church 10 years. I will soon be leaving because I am moving into the ...

My grand-nephew started learning Spanish in kindergarten. He lives in Texas, where there is a large number of Mexican people. They learned their songs in both English and Spanish. Many of the schools, here, are bi-lingual. My grand-nephew is in one of those schools. I wish I'd learned more Spanish w...

I have vivid dreams. I also have wild, wierd dreams (I watch some wierd movies)  . I have dreamed of my Mama several times since she went to be with Jesus, and she is always smiling or laughing. Little Sister wrote:Does a tornado count?

Actually, Little Sis, the only comparison is they both do a lot of destruction and they both rotate. I have been through both. A tornado hits and is over. A hurricane lasts for hours that can seem like days.

Frederic hit Mobile, AL in 1979 and marched on through Alabama. He came on through Birmingham. I lived in the Birmingham area at the time. He was down to a cat. 1 bordering Tropical storm when he hit us. That was pretty scarey for us. When it calmed down we breathed a sigh of relief. The eye only la...

I love the American flag and what she stands for. I proudly fly my flag on holidays, during National or State mourning, and other times when she should be displayed. I admire and respect the others mentioned. I do like the Texas state flag. I have always loved the Christian flag. As far as the churc...

Is your's a "Church of Nations?"

In another post, I mentioned our congregation is made up of people from 15 different nations. If your congregation is of more than 1 nationality, where are they from?

Ours come from: Mexico, India, Pakistan, China, The Phillipines, Trinidad, Russia, and several African nations.

We gave up our land line a year ago. We have AT&T (being purchased by Cingular). Whatever company you go with, make sure your phone is GSM, if it is available. The connections are great. In emergencies, the authorities can find you within a few feet. Our reception has been flawless. We pay aroun...

My home church, Abundant Life Church, is an independent church. Pastor Davis' "salary" grows as the congregation grows, but it would also decrease if the congregation decreased. Pastor and his wife share the Senior Pastorate position. They recieve a percentage (15%, I think) of the tithes. We have 5...

I do think that Jesus might be found at the beach, helping with the clean-up, watching the fireworks while hearing all the "Ooohs" and "Aahh's", or even at my own backyard barbecue. I also think His dress would be somewhat contemporary (shorts? Maybe. I don't know). Actually, whereever His people ar...

IF the usher in the theater asks me to move, I will be polite about it. However, if the usher in question TELLS me to move, I will be rude back to him/her. Personally, I find it ruder for people to come in late and crawl all over me to get to a seat. I like to do as Pr. Gary and get a good back cent...
