Re: Prince A. Hartley (1913-2008)

My uncle, Prince Hartley, passed away today in Blacksburg Virginia. He was 95 years old. Prince Hartley was an itinerant Evangelist for decades in the COGOP, traveling all over the U.S. running revivals. He was noted for his astounding ability to quote verbatim extensive passages of KJV scripture f...

interesting opinion about sin. complete abstinence of one thing is good, but not for this? I'm not sure I do, but if I understand your comment above correctly... My point is I would not forbid them to attend because they were in sin, nor beacuse they were adulterers ( of either or both sexual persu...

Billy Wilson is probably breathing better. He has alot on his plate. See http://www.worldimpact.tv/about_bw.php And he has this http://www.oru.edu/boardoftrustees/ Those things are wonderful, and I'm happy for him. The fact is though, that those 2 ministries are now outside of COGOP. All I'm saying...

From what I saw on that stage, Bro. Billy did NOT look happy about all this (the "moving the boat" comment certainly supports my perception). I don't know all the behind the scenes stuff here, but the perception of some will be that he was forced out. That is a shame. I love Bro. Howard a...

Re: Billy Wilson and Larry Duncan

Looking for a job???? Dr. Ron, you nailed that one. I was sitting in the arena when all this took place. I felt like I was at work. I see this every few months. What every one saw in that arena Sunday was a professional way to let someone go. The VP of the company I work for does the same thing. He...

I wish there would be more clarification from someone that really knows....we could all kill ourselves with speculation! Is he leaving the COGOP...that's what I want to know...ministries do change and so does leadership...I'm fine with that....but I wasn't in the meeting and some of you guys are gi...

Re: If your hair's to long.....

...there's sin in your heart Get it cut today and make a new start You'll live a life of fear and dread With that tangled mess upon your head If your hairs too long there's sin in your heart Well, the rich young ruler came one day To ask about the narrow way But his hair was long and he couldn't be...

OT, can you read? Where did I say that people were run over? I spoke with Kevin for a while on the phone last night. He shared with me what happened, we shared our opinions, had a great talk, and nothing of the sort came outta my mouth then nor have I typed it. Show me! You are really nit-picking F...

Re: Famous COGOP connections

Kenneth Copeland .... acutally flew the GO on one flight. I just want to know if he sang to Bro. Tomlinson about wanting his fanny brown. (Joke stemming from thread about Copeland's doo-wop songs in the late 1950's). Hey I don't know if Copeland sung to MAT. I wonder if MAY sung "Hear the tram...

[quote="pastorables"]Paul Thorn Steve Wariner (I could be wrong on this one) You are right. When Steve was a kid (about 12) he filled out an altar card from a revival we held at a church called Mars Hill in Indianapolis. His Uncle was the Pastor (Sam Wariner). In later years, Steve's Fathe...

That's great! My wife's Grandparents had to do the same thing. They had 14 children and gave up 9 of them(couldn't afford them)...all but a couple of them found each other and had yearly reunions. They were in Texas also...times were really tough in those days. My sister was adopted. Several years ...

Your heart seems to be in the right place. i have pondered days about your post. here is something I wish you to consider. You said there are two sides to every story. I agree. You chose to call SO's. When you do ask them if they are still in their position and grtting a check in the mail. If they a...

I saw a documentary about the life of Ray Charles. it showed hom standing in front of the building which housed a tavern where he began his music career as a kid. The building is now a church, and the sign said Church of God of Prophecy.

Re: Anybody see the View? N-word show

[quote="Brian"] Of course it's not a "good word". It has too much history of hurt and pain. But alot of people that use it today do in fact mean it as a term of endearment. ie. " whats up my n--ga "? I have used that term many times without the slightest bit of harm or ...
