No, as Peter explained to Hiro's sidekick last nite, he has to be in close range of the other mutant to absorb his powers, and it only lasts while he's within that short range. That's why he didn't start healing after his fall until Claire came back to check on him.

that is what I was thinking but he was able to fix his legs after the police arrive and I didn't think Claire anywhere close at that point.

I wonder if he could have aborbed Sylars power also?

Maybe there was some residual power left. She had only been gone about 30 seconds or so.

I'm sure he did absorb Sylars power (whatever the heck it is, I'm still not sure) but having the power and knowing how to use it are two different things.

i did like the way they presented Sylar as the boogeyman. When he had the cheerleader off her feet, when they panned back, she looked like she was alone. And the way he can control things from his mind.

but

from the trailer for next week, I wonder what happens after his "nap"

That's what I was thinking, I saw the healing thing (from Claire) coming, but then as he started fighting with Sylar, he seemed to have Sylar's strength matched. Since Sylar got up and kept going, I wonder if that may have been some of his powers as well.

Here's one of my theories: Syler is only able to absorb the powers of other heroes by consuming (is that what he's doing?) their brains, while Peter can absorb by proximity. It's pretty evident Syler is following a list or news of heroes rather than being able to tell if they're heroes by some sixth sense (or else he would have gone after Hiro last week or Peter this week). The powers Syler has now are the result of the ones he's already killed. That's probably why it was crucial of him to have the cheerleader's powers so he could not be killed. Radiation man will come into play but perhaps Claire will be the only one who can face the heat to stop him.

I like that theory Dewayne, but one question: how in the world did he ever discover that he had that power? Folks don't usually go around casually eating brains, so how did he first come to the knowlege that he could do this?

I'm wondering if he was the result of some type of experiment. Looks like we may find out next week.

You were right Dewayne. I still can't figure out what would possess him to eat the poor guy's brain though.

Pretty good episode - it answerered a bunch of questions! I sure hate that Hiro can't save that girl. I really liked her. He is maturing pretty fast because of these events.

It doesn't seem so much that HRG is that bad a guy anymore but maybe events will turn around again.

I thought it was pretty cool that Sylar is this really wimpy guy before he gets his powers.

Interesting that Petrelli really wasn't at concious fault for his wifes accident. I figured it was a DUI or something.

Yes, alot of questions answered, but HRG still seems to be shady, he wasn't cooperating with the Dr, and does seem to be doing some of the same research or something. He seems immune to the mind control the one girl has, but also has his buddy who seems to stink the powers right out of people (along with memories?)

Also some of you should be happier, doesn't look like Claire had the cheerleader attitude, and actually thought less of herself for wanting to be a part of it because of the attitudes.

This is true, but Kimmy is still trying to figure out if the entire world really is worth the price of saving one cheerleader.

I think the latter is more true than the former. The Haitian guy was blocking her from using the Jedi mind trick on Mr. Bennett.
