I do 99 % of the cooking and have a hot meal ready each evening when she gets home. I do a lot of the laundry, she does the cleaning. I make her coffee and bring it to her as she does her hair in the mornings
I think of the lines of the old song, "sweeter gets my journey everyday."

My husband bought me a little plaque one time that read, "Happiness is being married to your best friend." On the back of it, he wrote, "A good marriage means both of you thinks you got the best part of the deal!"

We were both 26. Were good friends in high school, but never dated. Started dating when we were 25...married 9 months later. We have been married for almost 14 years....have 2 beautiful daughters (11 & ...love each other more now. I encourage our daughters to do the same. Go to college...live on your own for at least 6 months...do all you want to do before you get married. I have no regrets, and I don't want them to have any either. The most important thing isn't age...it is waiting for the person & the time God has for you!

That's exactly what I did, Beth... married my best friend. On December 15, 2006, we celebrated 33 years together!

I met my wife when we were 13 at Tn. Youth Camp. I told her that afternoon that I was going to marry her. She said" you're crazy".
Five years and six days later we were married. Graduated HS on June 4, got married on June 20, and started pastoring our first church on Aug. 1. Started college on Sept.9..............killed each other the first time on Sept 10

Seriously, I don't know what all the fuss is about with the age thing. Age is just a number (he says after turning 60). My wife and I were mature beyond our years for many different reasons. We did just fine in that little church. They were kind to us and we were there for 2 years. We went from 18 to 75 in those two years. Then I decided to play for the Imperials. After that evangelism.....and on and on. Our two sons were born by the time we were 22. So when we were 40, they were GONE!!!!!!...as kids should be.

We will celebrate 42 years of "adventures in ministry and life" together in June. We are best friends , passionate lovers, dedicated parents, Proud grandparents, and committed ministers. We have few regrets about our life together and look forward every day to what God has next for us. We have had many storms.......but never one time even considered that we could or would be better apart than together. If a marriage can be made in heaven , it would be ours.

And then I still do little things for her like .............what ever she wants!
