Recent reports have the Apple iPhone 3GS to be reduced to $97 at Wal-Mart with 2 year At&t contract. This comes on the heels of the leaked information concerning the expected arrival of the iPhone 4G ($299-$399) this summer.
Can anyone who uses iPhone share why I would enjoy getting in on the $97 deal and what I could expect to pay for monthly packages? Is the expense worth the benefits?

I have the 3G and I'm do for an upgrade. I'm thinking about getting the 3GS. The camera reloution is better, you have video capabilities and a few other things.
I'll let everyone get the "new" iphone and wait for the price to drop down over the next couple of years.
The package price is the same as any other phone from at&t except you have a $30 a month internet charge. This is true for all smart phones though.
If you work outside the ministry, check & see if you can get a discount thru your work. We get 24% off our bill and another 40% off accessories.

If you don't like AT&T.. You prolly want to wait and get the new one that's possibly on Version and now floating Sprint and has all the new advanced features ( yet to be determined ). Apparently Apple was able to get out of the exclusivity contract by giving them the iPad 3G contract only.
Again.. the AT&T plans are fairly self explain.. except you can save on bundling it all together if you have other AT&T expenses ( cable, dsl, telephone, etc ).
btw.. the biggest $$ waste is txting. You can do it thru Google just as easy and get a free secondary number.

You essentially setup a Google number and text thru it completely free. It can even forward to your email and then you can text simply by sending gmail. You essentially have a second number for your phone with free abilities.
Note: All the rumors are keen speculation only from the way the other companies are positioning themselves.. such as... blocking off all employee vacations during the new iPhone launch times. etc etc.

No iPhone? Absolutely Possible? This guy could be telling the gospel truth. Yet my skeptic memory tells me that all corporations deny what is coming NEXT to protect investment in existing phones and secure secrets.
Soooo... If I recall take just Steve Jobs.. said NO WAY to:
1) No video iPod. Steve Jobs assured us that there would be no video iPod. Saying "It's about the music, stupid,"
2) No iPhone.. Jobs firmly declared his intention to stay out of the PDA and phone space.
3) No iPad. Steve Jobs reassured us from reports dating back to 2002 that there was no chance of an Apple-branded tablet computer. No market for it was his comment. I think they just broke records?
4) No iBooks. in September of 2009, Steve Jobs expressly denied Apple's interest in moving into the e-book arena. iBooks was announced in January 2010.
So I'm just saying.. A NO.. can also mean absolutely YES. One interview doesn't make a hill of beans worth of difference
We just don't know.
