Wow, what a shocker  I read today that Lindsay Lohan finally admitted she has "going out" with her girlfriend for a long time.

When I was but a child, this little girl made my heart throb in movies like Tom Sawyer. :) She came out of the closet last year. :(

Wow, good question which leads to greater discussion. The answer would be a yes/no answer. I never wanted to judge Jodie based upon her persona. I really like Jodie Foster the actress. I do not know her as a person, but to find out that she is lesbian is disappointing. It was easier just to accept her with that "tomboy" persona.

This indeed leads to greater discussion which may need to be a thread of it's own, but should we judge the sexual orientation of people based upon their persona? We all offer opinions about people based upon the guise we see. Honestly, most of the time we are probably correct in our judgement of gay orientation based upon the outward signs...but, not necessarily always. I never would have guessed Ray Boltz, although I wouldn't be surprised to find out one day that Richard Simmons has announced as much.

Just some thoughts,
pa

I'll be honest it really wasn't her "tomboy" image that I questioned, it was more you never saw her with a male companion...ever, even when she was a teen.

And not all lesbians are tomboyish or all gay men girly...so who knows who will come out next!

This is true. Likewise, we shouldn't be guilty of ignorance in the fact that "bi" seems to be an acceptable lifestyle today also, especially among the college scene.

May the Lord help us.

What we are seeing is the new "rebellion".

In the 90s it was girls having bi-racial babies and then leaving them with their parents to raise. It was the ultimate rebellion among teens then.

It then moved into a rebellion of sexual promiscuity via the internet.....myspace and like vehicles. I spent two years working with the FBI and others in my little community helping to sting some predators who were using teens as young as 13. The girls were being sent prepaid cell phones to talk sex talk to older men....pedophiles. They were paid very well for their cooperation. One of them is still in a safe house a long way from here ..........

Gay/Bi has now become the new rebellion of the teen set. At a local HS football game last year I counted 20 couples of girls kissing and holding hands in the stands and walking in front of the crowd.....just as an act of rebellion......

I worked with a teen who was suspended from school for having oral sex with a girl in the bath room at school. They were caught on the security camera and were "detained " until the parents could arrive.

The fact that gays have infiltrated the media on every front is not new.....that they have come out is.....and it is trendy. People mimic what they see on the tube...from fashion to passion. It is common knowledge. I would even dare say that some of these people who come out are not even gay....but are being paid by the Gay community to "act the part" in order to further their cause.

As long as we idolize man/woman for any reason......celebretize (my new word) we will see hords following their lead......

We have a lot of work to do and a lot of learning to do.....God help us.
