This is heartbreaking, really. Puts a knot in your gut. I don't know and don't want or need to know what has happened in the Page home in order to say this --- this is an attack from Satan and no one has won. In my own heart, I believe that he has lay in wait with all of his subtleties and has tricked each one in different ways to the point where neither of you is fully capable of seeing God's truth about you. Our adversary is clever and uses our own foibles to exaggerate lies and diminish truth, to distort and confuse, so that we choose that which is not God's way for us, so that we are responsible. Then that adversary laughs at us and mocks our foolishness. And, we ...... we stand in the middle of the debris of our choices and condemn ourselves, agreeing with the enemy that we have failed and have no hope; or, we stand on top of the debris and declare that we have control and continue our foolish ways. Neither of these is right.
Let every man (and woman) take heed of himself (and herself), lest he (she) fall. None of us are more than one or a series of satanically encouraged and abetted steps of self-deceit away from such wreckage. This has been, for here, a rather public display of the shame that the enemy can leverage against those who are God's. I hope and pray that none of us will ever heap any embarassment on the Pages for this. If nothing else, this is an opportunity to overcome evil with good, good for Danny, for Wendy, for those precious children. It is encouraging to see believers reach out in love to Danny here, and I believe that similar efforts and expressions are probably being extended to Wendy. I think it is safe to say that everyone here earnestly hopes for restoration and forgiveness. Ultimately, the Pages are empowered by the Holy Spirit and with all of the equipping capacity of the body of Christ to take authority of this matter themselves and to put to rights what has been wronged. What a testimony that can be, and I sincerely pray for that day to arrive.
Whatever it takes to make things right is my prayer, and for some or all that may be an earth-shattering experience or it could be as simple as yielding something of yourself and having your eyes opened. I dunno. I wish I could say or do something of truth that would have everyone back in one another's arms this day.
