Joey,
With all due respect to you, I think the thing that is missing with most Americans in this issue of a stable government in Iraq , is that this will take time. When WW!! ended, we occupied Germany and Japan. It took the better part of 10 years to establish a solid government in those countries and I am not sure we did well in Germany.
In Japan, we had the same issues as in Iraq. The Japanese people had no center of reference for democracy. They had lived under emperor rule for centuries. It was a religion for them as well. The emperor was their God in flesh. We had to walk with them out of that mentality. Gen. McArthur was the Viceroy of Japan for years and gave approval or disapproval of all their work in government. We did not use that same system in Germany because they were supposed to be a Christian nation that had been simply overtaken by a Godless dictator. It was assumed that they would see how wrong they had been to follow Hitler and return to their Christian beliefs.
We are a nation of hope. We believe that in everyone there is good and it will eventually outweigh the bad. We are optomists. That is a good thing. But we must not think in the terms of the world. Our world view as christians is being overwhelmed. We are accepting the world view of the godless and expecting instant gratification in everything. We want it all and we want it all now. Win the war and come home.
Folks, if we don't wake up to the real work of the terrorists, we will reap the whirl wind of their wrath. Make no mistake, our president is on the cutting edge of intelligence in this war. He has at his disposal more information than we have ever had in any conflict. We need to back him with all our might.
Nuff said. Love you all.
