regressed? hehehhehe I have only been here since a couple GA's ago. I did post on the forum they used to have at the cogop site, but was promptly warned to not actually talk about anything too controversial (meaning anything at all, really).

It was a bit of guilt by association. That letter was representative of the spirit and attitude most people outside of TCOG immediately associate with the organization, based upon a history of this kind of stuff. It doesn't seem fair to lump everyone in the group into that category, so I truly hope the good, sincere people in all of the xCOGx groups rise up and demand integrity, accountability and Biblical leadership from their respective groups. (Since I am easily confused... isn't Nabors' group TCOG?? Is your group ALSO TCOG??? How can that work????)

Hey One Love, which TCOG are you? I didn't notice that you posted in the Roll Call forum. That may have helped. We could have gotten to know you and where you were coming from. A2Jgirl posted in there and she's TCOG and we have really enjoyed her on here. She gave us some information about her and we kinda knew where she was coming from. I think that helps a bit.

NEWay, I just wanted to say that that would help if you don't mind posting in there. I think you can tell that we all pretty much know each other in here. And that has happened over time. I remember when I first started back in 98 with that-other-forum-that-shall-remain-nameless (<---- The forum that we were on before this one). Since then, I have graduated from college gotten married and had a baby. People are still on here from back then especially Pastor Gary. At first I thought he was crazy with some of the stuff he was saying. But now, I have the greatest respect for him. He is SOLID. He has really showed me stuff as well as others challenging me to study and search Christ and everything he has for me. I have come a long way and pratically grew up with them on this board.

We love you man, and may God bless you... If you have posted in the Roll Call forum and I missed it. Sorry... Again God bless you...

I have posted on roll call hope it helps :D

Nor does ANY of the factions that have left. They all CLAIM to be carrying out the "work of the CPMA" but not one dime of it is used in supporting Fields of the Wood.

My persoanl opinion is that it is nothing short of lying and deliberate attempt to extort funds to continue to sell CPMA Memberships and and do nothing to support the heritage.

I have heard this argument time and time again and though I no longer subscribe to TCoG beliefs nor do I drop a dime in any CPMA offering plates I must say never, never were we told that CPMA monies went to FOTW. We were told it went to General HQ to maintain the General properties. Just because many groups call their heritage department the CPMA doesn't mean they do or have to spend the monies received in those offerings for the same thing or even FOTW.
CoGoP dropped CPMA and now calls it something else. Does every dime raised go to FOTW? Are you bitter that TCoG and the other factions do not send CPMA monies to FOTW? I could be dead wrong but I'd dare say that statistically, by percentage, less CoGoPer's go to and shop (thus support both by visitation and monetarily) at FOTW than TCoGers and the many factions/splits. In fact many have even said close FOTW, sell it or convert it to something else.
Sorry just had to vent because it just sounds like a bad point on your part. 8)

Wow! have you heard a preacher in tcoG or zacoG or anyone else claim the CPMA membership funds go to FOTW. If they are clear in their teaching/offerings/promotions of where the funds for CPMA go to -- I see everything as just fine.

I did a quick check:
The Church of God Website wrote:Membership of the CPMA
To become a member of the CPMA, a yearly membership fee of $10.00 is required. After payment is received, a membership card will be issued to the new member. The membership cards are valid for one Assembly year. All funds received go toward the General Headquarters Property Fund of The Church of God.

Membership into this Association is extended to everyone without discrimination. Men, women, and children of all ages, color, and nationality may join the CPMA whether Christian or non-Christian. Freewill offerings and special donations are also accepted to further this great cause.

All local churches should strive to be 100% in CPMA memberships. This goal is very possible with regular boosting and with the commitment of our local leaders. Thinking of a great gift for someone? Remember, CPMA memberships are available to anyone!

I don't see any misleading there.

Brother Daryl and Full Quiver.

First, let me assure you there is no bitterness on my part what-so-ever. I do not care what the factions do, or don't do.

What I do have a problem with is the FACT that many of their members have come to the park and expressed discontent because of "all the money their headquarters sends Fields of the Wood you would think it would be in better shape". When they find out that, in fact, their headquarters does not send any money to the park, they seem less than happy.

If this was something that had only happend once or twice I wouldn't think anything of it; however, it is something that I run in to quite frequently.

As for the assumption that members of the factions frequent the park more than our own members, you are dead wrong, but you have a right to your own opinion.

God bless...
Blessings; DJ

If Anyone in TCOG thinks there money goes to FOTW they must not go to any church services to much  That has never been said or insinuated by general HQ. They have always stated it was for the HQ funds. Also to help with with the building fund. Some may feel that way Brother I'm not saying they dont I just find it sad that one could be so mis-informed and make a statement like that. Unreal.........

Darly I have to say a big AMEN to you and Full quiver. We dont claim to own or have any rights to FOTW. Nor do we say we collect money for it. We do however still love the place and feel it has signifigance to us. But im sure to end the debate Brother Don if anyone in TCOG comes there and says that ask them if they pay to this even with the markings changed    They may be quite then

Just kidding God bless you.

Could you name names Brother Don?
My guess is that their disgust is with CoGoP HQ not taking better care of the place considering the amount of monies received at CoGoP HQ. I have never, not once, heard any TCoGer or member of a similar group insinuate or think aloud that TCoG or said group was helping to finance FOTW.

As I said, and yes it's my opinion, percentage wise I'd dare say more faction members attend and support FOTW than do CoGoPers. Consider the vast difference in TCoG or splinter group membership compared to CoGoP and then base visitation to FOTW on those differing percentages.

So the letters

Postby scooter » December 21st, 2007, 4:57 pm

So again we see how that the letter means more than the Spirit.

CPMA..........

Why not HGUF??????

Because of a twisted desire not actually to upkeep any historical marker they just liked the letters because it made them feel warm and fuzzy about being thieves.
What we need here is a good revival! lol

Pretty bold statement. How are we thieves? It has more to do with sticking to what has worked. How are we thieves?
