I use rubbing alcohol to remove sharpie ink, and it works on most surfaces! I don't know about hair though....
I will tell you something I do when my hair colorant (I color my hair) shade is no longer appealing and I want to get rid of most of it, I use peppermint shampoo..Clairol Herbal Essence makes a "Clarifying" Shampoo. It really works to remove color, opens up the pores of the hair or something... it works wonderfully and leaves your hair feeling extra clean too!
Going over it with a box of her regular hair color would be fine, and it isn't really harsh as long as you are not bleaching....but I would try the peppermint shampoo first to remove as much as possible first so that it won't show through with normal fading. That way no weird(er) color combinations form...

Hairspray
I have always used hairspray to take ink stains out of my husbands shirts. Today I tried it in my hair with a permanent marker and it worked. It took all of the ink out. I have brown hair and I used a red permanent marker and I have to say, i thought it looked cool. 
Put a papertowel behind a portion of hair and saturate the hair with hairspray and use the papertowel to soak up the ink.

about that green hair...yeah...there's a certain brand of "blue" that did NOT like my hair and it was green for a while...then yellow...yeah THAT was fun...had it since I've been working at White Wing...in fact I've got about 4 different colors going in it right now...other than my 2 natural colors (which is black and silver)
seriously...like it's been said many times over...it's hair...it'll grow out...can always do a really cool short cut if it's just not coming out for a while...short cuts are fun (been there too...I'm very versital with hair...obviously)...easy...fun...and when you put color in them...takes less time for the color to come out...
And to whoever said about the older women coloring their's...hehe...I made that comment at youth conference this past year in my class...this one girl had obviously been judged for having different colors in her hair...I said (which was probably wrong...but oh well)..."the next time they are saying something bad about your color, just say, and what color is yours this month? Weren't you a lighter red last month?" yeah I'm mean...and people are dumb for fighting over color of hair, when there are bigger issues we should be focusing on. Like taking these color crazy people and loving them and showing them Christ's love...not judging them b/c they're not...umm...normal. 
Tell Lindsey I like...(not that my approval counts for anything)...OH...as far as the aunt goes...seriously...was she dumb? sharpie? dude I just sharpietoo my skin...never hair (although I say it's silver sharpie in my hair)...this aunt might go pierce her niece's ears...but not take a sharpie to her hair...that's just stupid. and I do stupid stuff...

We still have Blue hair, it is much lighter.. But it is still blue.. I will try to upload a updated photo this week end.
I am pretty sure that will NEVER HAPPEN. I think the Aunt now knows better than to try anything like that again.. I hope Lin knows and understand she has to say no!! when she knows, or even thinks it wrong ot at least call me when she is un sure.this aunt might go pierce her niece's ears
