Being a conservative doesn't make me a racist anymore than being liberal makes you tolerant.

So, is it your position that the Constitution promotes racism?

i am not a liberal. i am a compassionate conservative. read amendment xv1. that will take care of the tax haters. there are others that restrict "state rights". thats fact. i have been brought up to respect and pray for our leadership, not rebel against it. whether racism or states thinking their need is more important than the health of a country. when i vote in the general elections i will not throw the baby out with the bath water and will not be bullied to vote for a ceo of a website. (ebay) i will not vote for someone with the same way of thinking as BP execs. sorry.

Afterward Davis agreed with Stephens about the basic issue of the war. In A Constitutional View of the Late War between the States (1868--1870) Stephens maintained: "It was a strife between the principles of Federation, on the one side, and Centralism, or Consolidation, on the other" In The Rise and Fall of the Confederate Government (1881) Davis held that the Confederates had "fought for the maintenance of their State governments in all their reserved rights and powers." Both men forgot that the preservation of slavery had been the object of state sovereignty, state rights, secession, and the formation of the Confederacy.

It is my position that code words such as "states rights" have been used down thru time to refuse to conform to the law of the land. The Confederacy is just an example. racism is just and example. thats all. i dont think that all tea party people are supporters of racism. i do believe that some that scream state rights, state rights, have a fondness of the 1950"s which in the south was an example of racism and an example of states rights. in no way would i say that those on jude 2 are racist.

It is NOT the government's jobs to take care of the physical needs and wants of the people. Period.

Unless I am misunderstanding you, that is your main beef. You seem to think that it is the government's fault that we are in this pickle. The government is just an entity made up of people. It is the fault of the people that we are here.

It is the fault of the people that they have no healthcare, no incomes, no means............

I am sick to death of people that won't work and then say there is no work. What they mean is.....there is no work that I am willing to do.

I had great respect for a boy I knew in high school. He got his girlfriend pregnant before either graduated. He ended up dropping out and going to work. He got TWO jobs since he couldn't afford his new life with one. He rode the bus to Taco Bell and then after that shift was over walked to Burger King to work the other.

What I am hearing here is......"but he had to drop-out of school, but he had to work two jobs because the pay was so low in one, but he lived in a run-down shack.....we should DO something to make his quality of life better."

The facts are that he did the best he could with the decisions he made. It is not the governments job to make his life that of one who made better decisions.
There never was a horse that couldn't be rode and there never was a cowboy that couldn't be throwed.

Wouldn't you say that just about anyone can be "disabled" in today's time and mindset?

I don't know too many people, (and I know a lot), that have been injured on the job to the point of not being able to work. Sorry....weak generation that hollers, "Oh, my back hurts" and then expects to stay home and collect a check. Not buying it.

name one thing i have said that is not true. i can show you tea party goers spitting on people and calling people names. i can show time after time in this countries history people using the term state rights in a way which runs gov. without any restraint. in other words majority rules which is not a republic. a gov. body that does not care about the people they serve. putting an idea or a plan or a way of thinking over people. i have said this over and over and what do you do. resort to name calling.

Paul, who beat an establishment-backed candidate in Tuesday's GOP primary, appeared on MSNBC's "Rachel Maddow Show" and, in a long exchange with the liberal host, repeated his belief in a limited government that should not force private businesses to abide by civil rights law.

His statements created an overnight controversy, with Paul, an ophthalmologist and political novice, thrown on the defensive as party leaders sought to distance themselves from their new nominee's views until he began to pull back from his remarks

reported by many at the time yet the tea party could care less as long as the establishment is gone.

The first thing taught in any freshmen level debate class is that you can't be a skilled debater by turning your attack toward your opponent and away from your argument. It makes you look like you have no argument.

You dodged addressing my original statement of fact by trying to make me look hard and unloving. Sloppy move on your part. Try again.

Wouldn't you say that just about anyone can be "disabled" in today's time and mindset?
