I believe it to be wrong, but I accept that as they walk in the light of his word to the best of their knowledge and ability that they remain just before him, as do I, and we are both accepted in Him, and as such we would both go to heaven if we died with those differences.

Then WHY is division, rebellion, "reorganization", "I'm taking my ball and making my own game' necessary???

If you feel that God works with all to "remain just before him" why is it necessary to be devisive????

I had missed that last question Gerald.

I don't consider the reorganization divisive. if anything i consider denominationalism divisive, and see the Christian world as divided, when we really should be one body of believers. The church I belong to is a group of people, who with all their faults, have left the divisive system to return to that one body of believers.

The difference arise for us just as they do for other churches because we (all Christians) are not united as one body at this point. It gets back to what I said before...

there are no doubt many such issues with varying ranges of importance scripturally among many who are genuinely born again believers on their way to heaven. The fact is they make a huge difference. And will continue to do so as we struggle to arrive at, propagate, and defend in unison THE FAITH (the whole body of doctrine) once and for all delivered to the saints.

Are they sin or No. If so what do you do with them after you get saved....do you remove the tatoos take out the piercings.

NO opinions or heritage teachings....SCRIPTURE ONLY please !

Personally I would never get a tattoo (or a piercing) because it's not my body to tattoo or pierce. :) The Apostle Paul wrote:

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

To better help us understand if they are sin or not, we should examine our reasons for getting a tattoo or a piercing. For example, I have friends who have tattoos and here are some of the reasons they chose to get tattooed.

[A] They wanted to draw attention to their body
[B] They wanted to impress the girls ( or the guys )
[C] They wanted to be cool.

We need to ask ourselves ... Are these the things a Christian should be seeking after ?

1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

Tattoos and piercings are of the world and the Lord said we are to be separate from the world.

2 Corinthians 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord,

In fact tattoos originated from pagan (or devil) worship, and if you go back to the Mosaic Law, the Lord commanded against getting tattooed

Leviticus 19:28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.

Also, Tattooing was used to mark ownership, so here is something to think about ... If the body is the Temple of The Holy Ghost, then would tattooing the body be desecrating the Temple? ( Imagine the outrage we would feel if this Sunday morning we found a huge symbol painted on the side of our church ) Plus, did you know one day soon the devil will come in the flesh and he will be against all that is Holy. He will make war with the saints ( Christians ) and conquer them. He will rule over all nations and to show ownership a mark (a tattoo) will be placed on his property to the right hand or forehead.

Revelation 13:7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

Revelation 13:16-17 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

Something else to consider... If Jesus was walking the earth today, would he be walking the streets tattooed and preaching the gospel with a tongue ring in His mouth? If not, then should we?

God Bless,
John Klapp
