I heard a good opinion about this lately (at least I think so).

Paul obviously said that eating meat offered to idols is fine, but I don't think Paul would have joined in at the local temple when the sacrifice was made to the pagan god.

We don't do it. It is a holiday that is the high holy day for pagans, and I don't think we should celebrate with them. Don't think those who do are going to hell or anything....like someone said....personal conviction. This is just mine.
The Bible calls children a blessing and debt a curse, but in our culture we apply for curses and reject blessings.

Here's what the Pagan's Holiday Book says about October 31st:

SAMHAIN - Cross-quarter day - October 31/ November 1

Death, the third of the Harvest holidays, the ending of the cycle, death, but with the hope of rebirth and the New Year. The traditional time for the annual slaughter to ensure food throughout the winter months. Take this time to remember departed ones. In some traditions the end of the year . The separation between this physical world and the spiritworld is thin. Halloween customs are a part of this element of death, the thin line at this cycle and remembering the dead and the hopes of rebirth. On this night Magick is more powerful .

I wonder why it says this?

My daughter is 2 1/2 and this will be her third time trick or treating... first time I was just over excited about getting her the first costume and all that... and at the end of the night I realized that she was really just too young to appreciate the joy of getting all that free candy all to yourself... but seeing her in that cute costume was worth it. There are some things that I wouldn't allow...like dressing her as a little devil or vampire or such like that... but there are tons of cute costumes these days!!! And the kids enjoy it sooooo much, so I say if there is a safe neighborhood... go for it! Serena's first halloween she was a beagle puppy, looked like a real stuffed animal crawling around...lol Last year she picked out a pink toy poodle and this year she picked out a pink and black polka dot kitty costume. It's just a fun time for the family. As serena grows older she will know all how halloween was started an all that, but for now it's just someone putting candy in her bag ya know?
No greater time than the present to make a difference for the Kingdom of God! So Get Busy!

We're PREGNANT!!!
