Response: Yeah they do they just don't see selling themselves as a favor.

Why do you think they make more? It is the whoring of themselves.

Hey they might make another X moving a block down the street.

People who are caught up in the trappings of this world are none the less caught no matter how we love them or turn a blind eye to their ways.

White washing selling sexuality won't change what it is.

Scooter, I guess I haven't made my point very clear. I don't like that these girls work at Hooter's. They are good girls. They do not come from homes that have the same values that you and I have instilled in our children. To them, this is the answer to their problems. Make enough money in the time they have between school and work. Do I agree with it? Would I allow my daughter to do it? NO! But to generalize that all waitresses are sl**ts is just ignorance.

If a man or woman for that matter cannot control their thoughts of lust by walking into Hooter's, then they should never darken their doors.

As for the "whoring of themselves"....I've been in family restaurants and had waitresses "whoring" themselves with the men at our table to get a bigger tip...so believe me, it can happen everywhere.

They are using there job at hOOter's to sell sex. They may not actually "do it" but they are selling the thought. The look. The mood. They are working "it" for tips. Where I come from that is slutty. They may not go as far a prostitutes but they are in the same business. .... And it can be said it is adultery. The woman is placing herself in a postion to cause men to lust. In my Bible she is just as guilty as the one looking to lust and committing adultry in his heart.

Who printed your bible, gcats? Which translation has the word "slut" in it? Women don't cause men to lust; men cause men to lust. You're wrong that your bible says anything of the sort, and you're wrong for saying that your bible says anything of the sort. You might want to leave a claim check at the blasphemy counter for purporting to speak for the God of the universe on who is and is not "slutty". I'm glad you folks aren't my pastor. You wouldn't be for long.

The issue isn't judging. I can look at a man and say he is a drunk by his walk and smell. He needs to be saved. I can look a girl and say she is slutty by her acts and dress... it doesn't mean I want her to burn in hell. She does need to be saved. That is side stepping the issue.

No, it doesn't mean you want her to burn in hell, it just means you think that she deserves it and that you don't.

And, didn't you have as your favorite video here awhile back the 'Ba-donk Honky Tonk' song or whatever it was?? Don't suppose there was any of what you'd call sluttiness going on in that, was there?

What?! No love for me? Just judgement? Hypocrisy doesn't look good on you dolfan. Maybe you should open your Bible up.... it's there. You can causeth him to commit adultery.

Ok, I have never claimed to be a bible scholar on here, so I looked up on the Bible tools the passage you stated "causeth him to commit adultery" and this is what I found:

No Results Found.

And I looked in all the versions....not just King James. So could you please give me the passage that this is from. Thanks.

Let's just say that I've always loved people who put the suffix "th" on a few words and "spout" it like scripture enough times to convince themselves that it's in the Bible

Matthew 5:28

Postby TW » March 1st, 2006, 3:01 pm

I believe that the verse that Wendy is referring to is Matthew 5:28. However, I can find nothing that places any of the blame upon the woman being lusted after. Sorry gcats.

Women don't cause men to lust; men cause men to lust.

Women don't cause men to lust; men cause men to lust.

I think that this statement cuts right to the heart of the matter. It is not what a woman wears that is truly the issue here, it is the fear that some man (or men) who has never learned how to control his animal nature will react.

When God created Adam and Eve they were naked, and remained so until sin entered the world, so evidently God sees nothing wrong with the human body. It is not the nakedness that is the problem, it is that some people have never learned to love and appreciate the gifts that God has given us without coveting them. A woman cannot cause a man to lust, he lust within his own heart. It would not matter what she was wearing. The other side of the problem is that many people tend to over react to this "threat" and want to cover every square inch of skin, wrongly thinking that this will prevent the lusting. If this were true then the men in Muslim countries would not be subject to lust. I just don't see that happening.

Another truth is that most women really don't look good in skimpy attire. While they may have curves, the curves usually run in the wrong directions.

I'm sorry if these views don't sit well with some on the board, but I think that it reflects the reality of this discussion.

Don't get me wrong, I know they don't serve up sex per se (though many probably do after hours) but they do alot for their tips I'm sure. I told the gals I was there to pick up a to go order. For some reason I get the feeling that experience was somewhat like being at a whore house. Maybe someone can tell me if it's so. The wings and the cajun shrimp were great but I felt like I needed a bath when I left there. Shocked

Now at what point did I generalize and include every Hooter's girl? I don't reckon I'll ever hear even a remote sign of an apology for saying I did. I spoke of my experience at the local Hooter's in Murfreesboro. Did I mention the girls you know Yellow Rose?

True most likely the Hooter's employees need salvation as does all regenaerate mankind. I doubt much soul saving is going on while sitting at the table and gobbling down wings. If you are truly interested in the souls then go door to door like they did in the book of Acts and you will eventually find them at home where you can present the Gospel to them. If that's not your thing then pray and the lord can lead you to them.

It doesn't take a Bible scholar to know what verse Wendy was speaking of. It just takes a Bible reader. Believe me, it's not hid in the prophecies, laws, history, and geaneologies of the Old Text. It's right there in Matthew. It says the man that puts away (divorces) his wife causes her to committ adultery. It goes both ways however so the woman that puts away the husband causes him to committ adultery. Does it say hooter's girls cause men to committ adultery? Nope! Does it prove that someone can cause another to committ adultery? Absolutely!!!

TW wrote:However, I can find nothing that places any of the blame upon the woman being lusted after. Sorry gcats.
The WORD says causeth thus implying fault or blame to some extent.

Thank you Scooter for your honesty though you could come under the same fire as me. You may not completely agree with my wording or statements but I do believe you agree with the fact that Hooter's is about selling sex. The wings are just ala carte!

BTW, when God said Israel was backsliding or backslidden did He generalize and thus include all the Jews? When He said they had committ whoredom was He meaning that each and every soul was guilty of such? When the Lord said Israel had sinned against Him did that mean there was no righteous in Israel?

Wow FQ, I believe that was an insult. Good thing I have much bigger things on my mind than whether shorts and tank tops meets your approval or not or I would have my feelings hurt.

We're not discussing whether shorts and tank tops are approvable. We ware discussing whether or not hooter's would be an appropriate place for a youth group dinner. Of course we have got into the why it isn't and what hooter's is really about. No need to change the facts. If you consider it an insult then so be it. It's right there in the Word and you said it wasn't. I expect it from Mike W., but I am surprised a bit from you. It's a very common verse and with all the talk of divorce and remarraige that has surfaced on J2 through the years this Scripture that Wen referred to has been used very commonly here.
I have piped unto you, and ye have not danced!

I think some (not all) were stating why they feel it would not be appropriate. I have no problem with it. In fact, that is my lonely vote there for taking some in my youth group there to eat and watch football. Didn't take my whole group, it wasnt an organized activity. Didnt have a problem with it then. Dont have a problem with it now. Went it saved, went out saved. Guess I am the odd man out.

Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures? You just said "It goes both ways however so the woman that puts away the husband causes him to committ adultery."

Prove it.

I contend that is not possible because when that was spoken divorce was not even an OPTION to be initiated by a woman. Women were summarily dismissed by their husbands for almost any reason at all, but a woman putting away her husband? Don't believe it.
