Folks, just a quick note to thank you for visiting Tennessee for the 94th General Assembly. I am also thankful that you let me "lurk by" while my family was dining at one of Nashville's restaurants. It was good to meet many of you.
We are hoping to get your feedback on the assembly location as soon as possible. If you would like, post on this thread and I will print your responses and take them with me to the post-assembly debriefing we will have with the Task Force.
God bless.

no offense to you or your state Bishop McKinley, but I do not feel the SE is the place for an international ministry. I believe that if it is to be in the NA region at all, it shoud be more regionally central (without regards to the SE populous). With that said, I do not believe that the GA should be in America at all every single time. If we are an international ministry and organization as we have been drilled all week, then let's act like it. Africa, Asia, Europe and CIS would be great places to start.
If for some reason that suggestion (as I have also heard from many others) never comes to any where near fruition, then yes, the GEC in Nashville was a good venue. I did like it better than freedom hall in kentucky. (my only two GA experiences, I am a nubee to the COGOP).

Although I voted yes, I do agree with RamboPreacher. I would like to see the GA move out of the SE.
Since it is the "International" General Assembly, it might even be good to go International. When I was in the travel business I attended major travel industry conferences in Bangkok and London. There are many places around the world that would be suitable, and this would afford more people from the nations the opportunity to attend.

Nashville is great. Please make it in July for the teachers and school children that did not get to attend. We need these young people.
I liked Nashville

Nashville was fine for us. Easy to navigate and the downtown eating places were fine except one (and that is whole subject in itself).
I do agree August is not a good time. Teachers, kids, and parents struggled getting there.
I also agree with RamboPreacher. It does need to bounce around a bit more, including outside of the USA.
I would be willing to go to another country. Thank God for frequent Flyer miles.

First, I am proud that you as a church leader took the authority you have to address the BDP committe from the floor and state plainly what was happening with those who refused to submit.
As for you question on Nashville?
That was my first trip to Nashville. While I enjoyed the vibe and the atmosphere of the city, I didn't think that the GEC was the best venue to have the Assembly. My wife talked to a few older guys while drinking down here Starbucks before they were allowed back into the GEC. They were mentioning to her how much they enjoyed the Assembly, but that it was so hard for them as lower-middle class to afford it. Pricey food I think was their major concern. We brought a nice sized group of young people from Washington state and it would have been nice if there would have been more eating establishments close to the GEC that were not bars after hours. It was hard to find a place close that was open after 10pm during the week that they were old enough to go in to. That could also be due to my lack of knowledge of what is available.
Parking was not nearly as bad as I had anticipated.
If we do have it again at the GEC, I would like to see more tables and chairs for people to sit at in the outer area. They filled up so quickly that those who could not go out to eat, had a hard time finding a place to sit.

I think Nashville is a great place, O.D. dad.

But I'm used to it. I agree with Paully - parking was way better than I expected.

I voted yes sir
I like the assembly closer to the "Holy City"

I think our leaving the Cleveland area helped change the Assembly and cause it to be too costly for some I know the reasons for that and am not totally against them.
That said July would be better and more food vendors so that those who could not afford the "pricey food".
Also in the old days we had rooms available in homes, camping facilities etc. I wonder if the area churches there in the city might be enticed to offer dorm rooms in their churches for our folks who can not afford lodging Just a thought. Though parking was not bad maybe those churches around the Gec might also offer their unused lots to us if asked.
I also would like to again express my admiration for standing up for us in the business.
Keep up the good work

I understand people's concern about it being in the SE, but I don't think they fully realize the expense of transporting everything necessary to a distant location.

Right. I understand the need to make a decision that means the least amount of possible attendees will have to fly. And I know it's easy for me to say because I'm in the SE but even if it were held in Los Angeles or Las Vegas (dream on folks), I would most likely still be there. Move it out there and it would make a point that "hey we're out of the SE" but it would be pretty costly point to make.

Brother E.C. McKinley & The GA Task Force
I must say as well I could hardly contain myself after your remarks at the GA. I advised some of my family that I would be e-mailing you soon to express my gratitude for your remarks at the GA as many of us where feeling the same way.
Furthermore, I did enjoy myself in Nashville, TN for the GA, however, it would be great to have the shuttles run during the GA. I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Downtown and the shuttle stopped in the late morning and didn't run again until 6PM (besides the fact they only had one 15 passenger van. Therefore, we had to walk in the heat and come into cold air and now I have cold. Plus for those hotels closer to the GEC more rooms should be blocked off in advance as we booked are rooms in Jan. this year at the Holiday Inn, we where told it was to late and we paid $20.00 more per night, plus those with the COGOP GA where to get free parking at the Holiday Inn Express Downtown, but because we where not considered in the blocked rooms we had to pay $14.00 for parking each night. Therefore, it cost me an additional $170.00 to be at the Assembly that didn't cost the others. But, that can easily be considered my fault for booking late. But, those are my thoughts, look forward to hearing more. God Bless!

NO, hotels were not that convenient, were too expensive as was parking. I vote for South America next time.
