Christian Musician Summit

I am looking forward to this as this has workshops for all aspects of worship, including the geek stuff.

In the evenings there is a concert of Brian Doerksen, Phil Keaggy, Tommy Walker on one night and Lincoln Brewster, Tim Hughes, Robbie Seay Band the other night.

I have only heard of Phil Keaggy and love to watch/hear him play. Havent heard of the others.

Has anyone on here been to workshops like this? I am hoping to learn and not be pitched to buy various software or hardware for 2 days.

Lincoln Brewster is pretty amazing, too. I think you'll also like Robbie Seay.

Not sure about the workshops. I haven't heard of this before, but it looks like a good list of guest artists.

I have been running our sound & computer for years, and pretty much self taught O.J.T

I am really looking forward to some good techie workshops. The concerts should be good, I love listening to live music of just about any genre, even if I wouldnt listen to them any other time.

One of the afternoon concerts, Doyle & Haley Dykes, ought to be quite something. Doyle is a like a national champion guitar player, really amazing to hear and see. I've not heard of Haley before, but she'll probably be pretty special, too.
Why is it that bad decisions seem to make to most interesting testimonies?

Doyle and Haley are great! I've heard them at a few local festivals in the Cleveland TN area where they live. Doyle was also on program at the LDI at Peerless Road in April.

Man, you were not kidding. He kicked off his session with a Beatles medley on his 12 string. Then went into a military medley, U2 medley and hymns. His daughter played mandolin and sang. very good.

The highlight for me was Phil Keaggy playing alone on the stage, just him and his guitar. Here he is playing a song Salvation Arm Band which was mind blowing.

Later in the night, he spent 30 minutes jamming with bassistAdam Nitti and a drummer named Zoro who also gave a devotion on Saturday.

Between the music and the workshops, it was an event that is totally worth the money and I am hoping our entire Worship team can come next year.

I think my aunt and cousin go to that church, big church! I'm glad you were able to go, it sounds like a great opportunity.

Haley is Doyles daughter. Doyle is an amazing guitarist and grew up in the COG. http://youtube.com/watch?v=V01qazDmE0E
I've known Doyle since first grade back in Jacksonville FL.

Sorry I posted this info before I read your last post Paully
