Well, Sunday the 14th is our third try at live webcasting, and we think -- we HOPE -- we have worked out the major tech hurdles. We appreciate those who have helped us each week as ßeta testers!
If you know someone unable to attend church -- shut-ins, care-givers -- we'd really appreciate it if you would refer them to

great - great! much improved
iff we are getting to the point of critiquing audio mix (which we were), then you are heads adn shoulders above most others doing this. and the only way to mix audio for the stream is to have a dual-audio mixing system (someone mixing for the stream and someone mixing for the auditorium. that may be a ways out, if at all (think video production booth separate from sanctuary).
i thought it was great. and to think that it will only get better with practice is the icing on the cake!
Mahalo!

Thanks to all for the input and encouragement. Kudos to the tech guys who improve the setup every week, and are learning the ins and outs of this by the seat of their pants.
Having some friendly viewers really helps them get real-time feedback!
I have not see it yet, but I am told it went much better this week.
Lol on the critique

Yeah -- I went and watched the archived version this afternoon, and was greatly impressed with the level of improvement from past weeks. We'll be missing main tech, Steve, the next few Sundays while he makes a trip to the mainland, so tomorrow we make sure he has cross-trained well. Our goal (HA!) is to have every slot cross-trained 3 deep.

The webcast mix is a submix out of the main board, and we can only do so much, since our main focus is on the live MAINS house mix, and the stage wedge monitor mix. We will continue to play with that, but for now, I am pretty happy with what I heard. (We lost a minute or two of audio at the start of the Japanese Revival video, but, hey, it was in JAPANESE with English subtitles, so not many people were understanding much of that anyway...)

And some people right here in this board share in the victory, and any good that is done is a team effort --- and give God the GLORY for it all!

Internet is temporarily out at my house (this is from my computer at work). Not having seen it, I can only guess about your audio mix, but if you aren't already doing it, you might try flying a couple of mics pointed back at the stage, from somewhere 3/4 of the way back from the platform, and about a foot from the ceiling. That will give an ambient element to your audio mix, which will help you get a more natural sound. It will also pick up things the stage mics usually don't, including the congregation's singing and responses, which is nice if you have an active "amen corner". The mix should probably be in the neighborhood of 70% stage and 30% room, but there is a lot of room for trial and error. I would suggest putting the mics together, sort of pointing across each other in an modified V or X shape, crossing right behind the mic capsules(on an Shure SM 58, that would be right behind the wire-mesh windscreen). That configuration actually enhances mic performance.
I hope to be back online by the end of this week. Let me know when you'll do the next one. I'll try to catch it.
