I was looking at the TCOG (Danny Carter) website and it said they were having something called a "Called Council" this past weekend.


For those in the know, what was this? Did Carter finally officially split off from TCOG (Smith)? Sounds alot like a "Solemn Assembly" to me.

Despite written denials, I firmly believe that is what it was.


I haven't heard any reports yet, but I'm sure they are coming on one of the various websites.

Praise God, the TRUE Church has FINALLY come to be.

If I don't belong or don't have my name on a church book, can I still be part of the church?

I'm tired and its late so I'll chalk up that question to that fact.

If it's a council for the "Called", how do you prove you are "Called" to get in? I mean, you wouldn't want a lot of riff raff getting in there, wouldja? ThAt would be "uncalled for". Do the"Called" get a revelation of a secret handshake or something? Or is there a "Called Council", and then a "REALLY Called Council"?

Sorry, I am not in the know or in the care. I have enough to concentrate on, like should I change brands of toothpaste and what do I want in my coffee and how should I change my landscape around next spring.

I suppose it's kind of like my JW co-worker says.

The "elect" know they are the "elect". If you don't "know", then you definitely aren't.

Call it a hobby.

Not sure what happened or did not happen. But the title "Called Council" is reminiscent of the meeting by the same name in which AJ Tomlinson and the faithful from the council of Elders met in 1923 -- the meeting that essentially split from the "Elder's" Church of God.

That being the case, it sounds like it was intended to facilitate a split and start yet another TCOG.

I did not get a call...I wonder if my wife paid the phone bill this month?

You can always call your own counsil and start your own gig. That seems to be the popular method of some groups. I'd call them splinters, but they seem to be more like dustings.
