My first time...

to do an international adoption, and I'm excited.

Been wanting to help someone on one of these for a long time, and now getting my first opportunity. While I can't reveal details, of course, I can tell you this couple are Christians, active in ministry, and the child should have a wonderful, secure and loving home as opposed to what she faced in Central America.

I'd appreciate your prayers for this couple in the coming 90 days, for the court proceedings here, safe arrival of them and their new baby girl to America, etc.

Congrats to the family! Is the child Guatemalan?

I don't want to get too specific for privilege reasons. Obviously, you're in the neighborhood, though.

If it is, I'm sure you're aware of the need for especially scrupulous vetting of adoptions from there right now.

I had to read this line twice. :D I thought you were announcing that you were the one adopting. Several people that I've associated with and some on this board have been involved with International adoptions.
