"Effective Preaching & Teaching"
Fact: Seventy-five percent of the people leaving a lesson or a sermon have no idea what was communicated. Fact: Fifty percent of the preachers and teachers cannot articulate, in a simple sentence, the objective of their focus. So how can we communicate more effectively? Jesus said, "whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them..." (Matthew 7:24). How can we communicate in a way that brings about a response? In this class, we will look at the type of learner your listeners might be. (Active vs Reflective, Visual vs Verbal Learners, etc.). We will look at different ways to approach the Bible for better understanding. We will consider preaching and teaching styles. We will focus on how to S.C.O.P.E. our congregation.

Statistics show that we retain about 20 % of what we hear and 80 % of what we see. Wouldn’t it be nice to help your young congregations remember your lessons! See your sermons! You will receive free software, and tutorials on how to use them. We will learn ways of “seeing” sermons before we prepare for them! You will delve into web site contruction and learn to use software packages that will benefit your personal ministry as well as your church.
