Pastor Gary, what have you heard about the massive Disney resort they're building in Hawaii? I've read some about it in the newspaper here that keeps up with all things Disney. From what I see, it won't be an amusement park but will feature some characters, most likely the Lilo and Stitch characters.

Yes

It has been big news here, and I saw the drawings in the paper of the planned development.

There is a group here, mostly wealthy white people who have moved here recently, who are anti-EVERYTHING. They protest and sue over every change. We are a chain of 8 inhabited islands, spread across hundreds of miles of open ocean. Travel is complicated and limited by the 2 or 3 interisland air carriers. An investment group built a massive interisland high=speed Superferry that would allow local residents to go, for example, to Maui from Oahu and take their vehicle along filled with Christmas gifts for the relatives. The anti-everythings (along with the Sierra Club and usual suspects) got in the water on surfboards, screamed, yelled, threatened and sued and the boat laid off hundreds of workers and sits idle while they sort things out; they even called a special session of the legislature to make some legal exemptions allowing the boat to sail sooner.

The day the Disney project was announced the same crowd started whining...

Here's an article for anyone interested in reading about it. 1,000 new jobs for a billion dollar project. Sounds impressive.
