I read this over on Full Quiver's forum. I hope he doesn't mind me posting it here:

Listen up and read carefully!

Herman Ard and Lanny Carter have conspired to overthrow Stephen Smith. Smith has been out of the office on a hunting trip/vacation, which he probably deserves, and while away the mice will play.

Ard instructed Sister Irene Gaddis to phone all the bishops and ask if they would stand behind them, Ard and L. Carter, as they overthrow Smith from the GO chair. Many folks call into Sister Gaddis, the prayer line, and voice their concerns about Smith not being God's man, the Assembly being railroaded, the Pres. meeting, etc. Ard was told by Gaddis that he should be GO and not Smith since it is he that does all the work. Enter BIG HEAD!!!

I do not know when Smith is due back, sometime this week if my sources are correct, but he is in for a surprise. From what I am told all the overseers and or Bishops are in agreement that he, Smith, must resign. Ard and L. Carter are planning to meet with Smith and ask for his resignation. They seem to be very bold in this. I have been leery about posting this info because I want them to do what they will and quickly, kinda like Judas.

Now what gives them the right you may ask? Who knows! Lanny even told some that they need not worry about their licenses being revoked because their would be no repercussions. He is a pastor; what say over anyone's license does he have unless he thinks he will soon have a say. These men have a long history of bad behavior and Smith was well advised to remove them from his administration. He failed to do so and now will learn a hard lesson.

By all means don't take my word on this. Call Ard, call Gaddis, call your overseer. If you are not willing to make a call then you don't deserve truth.

Get out the Church of God family tree, Gerald and Rambo. Another branch is coming.

Isn't is AMAZING how devious, underhanded, malicious, and treacherous things are when maintianing a PERFECT church???

Maybe after have 3 or 4 more splits, and then they turn everybody else out, and only 1 guy is left, then maybe they'll finally reach perfection. Then, of course, every other Christian in the world will rush to join the perfect church and become one fold.

Well at least we'll have the excruciating drama of the One True Bride to latch on to if the writer's strike shuts down tv. See, you can always find that silver lining.

Just a curious observation. What or who was that bad seed? I also noticed you made a post in reference to L.Carter, I have history with him as well. So I do understand what you were saying.

This is someone different than Danny Carter over The Stand right? This is someone in TCOG doing it not affiliated with The Stand? Is that right?

IMHO the spirit displayed by many of the "concerned" was and still is bad. I know folks in that group that won't even talk to you if they see you in public...They've tried to persuade members to leave and have very vocally attacked COGOP and it's leadership.

Lanny Carter is the pastor of Zion hill TCOG. The HQ local church. Danny Carter is with the stand. Kinda coinfusing Danny and Lanny.

I had the opposite exp. those in TCOG were extremely nice and had a wonderful spirit. Even when talking about what took place 1990-1993. But as for all groups there are bad people. That is one thing I have learned.

Well, Gerald when I read this the first time I was gonna. But..decided against it.

I just can't for the life of me understand how Spirit-filled people can actually believe that this dorky little podunk splinter group that has sub-splintered into like 5 other factions and all at war with each other is the True Church of Jesus Christ!! I mean even if it was in good health as a organization, who could ever fall for it unless you grew up that way and had it drilled into your head?

I mean good grief, if after 2000 years of Christian history all that's left of the True Church founded by Jesus is this little rinky-dink group, it's time to pack up and close down and go home, it's been a miserable failure after 2000 years! Thank God for the True Church of Jesus Christ extended around the world and growing by leaps and bounds! The gates of Hell have not prevailed against His True Church.

But I guess these weird little groups will always have their followers who swallow it hook,line,and sinker. The COG family has been plagued by them! I mean there were actually folks who followed Homer Tomlinson as he declared himself King of the World and ran for US President on the "Theocratic party" and there were folks who followed the good 'ole "Jerusalem Acres Church of God" bunch and thought Grady Kent was Elijah Restored!!!

Does any body else think that some of this stuff is actually caused by demonic religious spirits that deceive people? I just don't understand how good people can fall for it. I mean even the worst sinner crowd that know nothing about God can see right through it! You try to share some of these ridiculous claims with unsaved folks and they would laugh their heads off and say "yeah right!" or be like "RUN!! Cult alert!" I've always had a morbid curiosity for some of this odd stuff but just cant understand how people can look at it seriously and believe it.

You know whether I believe this or not I would not be so harsh to any group. I think it is even more absurd that people pray to Mother Mary and other saints in the Bible. Yet many of them are supposed to be the elite of the world. Differences of TCOG and other Pentecostal organizations are .
Exclusivity
Divorce and remarriage
Against wearing jewelry
That is no where near the differences as other groups. Not to mention that cog is one of the largest Pentecostal organizations and they held this same doctrine for a long time.

I would like to know how you would have looked at the very small amount of reformers that stood against the Roman Catholic church. They were small , killed and even thought of as a cult. But thank God in the midst of that they still kept preaching there convictions

What is that true church? Next do you feel that all these Thousands upon thousands of different doctrines will remain that way in the rapture? If so why are you so hard on TCOG. I could name LARGE organizations that teach things that are so unbelievable and absurd. I think it interesting that we feel God can do all things but to gather all his believers into one fold speaking the same thing is "dorky and absurd" and just could never happen. He can gather animals together without eating each other and they made there way into the ark themselves but we seem to be lower then animals because God the creator of heaven and earth does not have the power to "gather together in one all things in Christ" hmmmmm

Now TCOG is demonic? My Lord friend do you really believe that? Lets consider the doctrines of
Mormonism
Roman Catholic church
Episcopal
Primitive Baptist
Calvinist thinking organizations

But you Choose to call those in TCOG demonic. My LORD what happened to we are all saved by faith in Jesus Christ. So all that have repented of there sins are saved. Yet many organizations do not even believe that yet this organization is so wrong. Lets not forget many in COGOP still practice this as well. Not the majority but many.
I mean no disrespect but I feel it is dangerous when we start slandering other organizations especially just because we may not understand what or why they believe these things. If you would look at what they teach as there rule and faith it really is not much different then many Pentecostal organizations. Salvation, sanctification, Baptism of the Holy ghost, regeneration, holiness etc.......

I understand. I was sucked into it and pumped weekly on the fact that we were it and they weren't. It is sickening. I am saddened by it all. They really honestly can't see. I am so glad I got out. So glad! I posted this on my blog...

I am so so so so so so so thankful for my church. I have not heard one peep of backstabbing gossip. Everyone gets along. Everyone understands one another. Everyone is supportive. It is like nothing I have ever seen before. Probably because the Pastor has a “if you gossip, hit the door” policy. It isn’t tolerated. This is the first time I haven’t felt the stares going to church in years. I don’t have to measure up to anyone. I can be me and they help me be me. What more can I ask for? I am fed and happy. That is all sheep need.

It will make the TCOGger's that read my blog so uncomfortable. The condemnation in that church is so unreal. They can't even see it. That is a dangerous situation to be in. They will sit through all the HORRIBLE drama and cruelty to sheep just because they think they are it. It is very much a brainwashing cult. It was never that bad when I was in CoGoP. It went into overdrive after the split in 93.

They knew they were so wrong, that they had to, as you said, kick it into overdrive to convince everyone of their members that they were "right."

Now look what has happened. You have four factions of a faction, and each one of them believes they're it.

There comes a point where people become unsaveable from themselves.

I seriously hope that isn't true but I do wonder myself. It took me being kicked out. I don't know that I would have walked away. Right now I would probably be in another faction. Sadness.
