I think his books read well. However, in person, my spirit just says there is something misaligned. I have been in service with him and Chuck Pierce, who is a partner of some type of his. They came through Alabama doing a 50 state prayer something or other. My husband had the same feeling that I did.

Just my opinion.

I am concerned with the following statements made upon his website:

Baal-hamon, one of Baal’s names, means “the lord of wealth or abundance.”

The references I have say something alon g the line of the Wikipedia citation: Ba'al-Hamon ("Ruler of a Crowd or a Multitude") was a place mentioned in Song of Solomon 8:11, as the location of a productive vineyard owned by Solomon, who let out the vineyard to tenants, each of whom was to bring him a thousand silver shekels.

You must war against this spirit to see your inheritance released.

Where in scripture does it tell us to war against specific spirits for specific objectives?

He has already incorrectly ascribed a power to an entity, and then says we must pray against that entity for increase.

Where is the soveringty of God?

Baal-berith, another of his names, means “the lord of the covenant.” The Hebrew word baal actually means “husband” or “marriage.” This spirit always attempted to cause Israel to “divorce” or break covenant with God and “marry” or align with him. Consistent with this, in so many ways America has broken covenant with God and married Baal. This is, I believe, the strongman behind most covenant-breaking.

Nothing in the Jewish Encyclopedia spports his conclusions based upon the word "covenant". One wonders WHERE his conclusions come from being they are not supported by scripture, by Jewish tradition or any other thing..

Baal is the strongman behind sexual perversion. Homosexuality was and is one of his big strongholds. I believe all of the sexual sin and perversion in America is, to one degree or another, under Baal’s orchestration.

Again, where does he get this?

Not only does he attribute the very fallen nature of man described in Romans 1 to the provoking of a "god" but he ASSUMES that a false god of the Bible is an actual entity of Power.

What was the whole Elijah calling fire down from heaven thing about. Baal couldnt strike a match then, but he can bring down a nation NOW?

Baal always goes after the next generation, trying to cut off the extension of God’s covenantal purposes. He is a violent spirit and even required human sacrifice. Abortion is under Baal, as is the “cutting” of today’s young generation (see 1 Kings 18:28), the vampire and goth movement, and the death culture in general that has so invaded America. Baal is leading the fight to avert the great awakening planned for the young generation of Americans today. Pray against and bind these efforts.

Again: Where does he get this information?

Does he have a pipeline into the demonic?

Look at how powerful this spirit is, how important the believer is and how ABSENT GOD is!

Witchcraft and occult spirits in general operate under Baal. So does Jezebel.

Where does this knowledge of the occult orignate?

===================

I was just blown away when I read this. I'm sure there was a day I would have read this and thought "Oooooh!" but NOW I am blown away by the mindless superstition and "Facts" pulled from thin air.

Not only is a second rate "God of flies" elevated to almost supreme position, the very fact that a CHRISTIAN would believe in an entity so powerful contradicts so many statements of Gods supremecy stated in scripture.

There is a spiritual gift of discerning of spirits. Perhaps he has one.

Rather than give a personal opinion, why not allow each one to discern for themselves if the ministry is a valid one. He does not answer to us, but to God.

He must answer to what scripture teaches. ANd what God has already revealed.

This is the same idea as M&I. I dosent matter WHAT your "gift" is, if it cotradicts, detracts or adds to the Gospel. It is equal to the ravings of a drunkard.

In the above quotes he elevates a pagan fiction, to a power rivaling Christ, contradicts Romans 1 and excuses mans own sin nature with demonic bewitchery.

Why does a "discerning of spirtis" equal vast knowledge of the occult?

If such occultic knowledge was important for Christians why was not a Demonology primer given within the New Testament?

Response: Why is there a need for any such gift called "Discerning of Spirits" if God's sovereignty takes take of all ills without your warfare.

I don't claim to be a demonologist. However I see no need for a scripture that calls for the trying of spirits if there are no spirits with which we need be concerned.

I agree that many people use this scare tactic to amass a following and gain $1,000.00 dollar champions, but the abuse just like in M & I doesn't negate the validity or reality of gifts and evil spirits.

The fact that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God seems to put us in the position of using those weapons.

Many Christians today don't even acknowledge that there is a war on, let alone teach to endure like a good soldier or fight any fight.

To me there are extremes on both sides of the issue.

1. A devil behind every doorknob.

2. No battles of spiritual significance after a one time profession of faith.

Both are just as false as the other just on differing extremes.

Well said Scooter.

The gifts of the spirit are very important in ministry today.

Dutch Sheets, to me, is a great author. I have never seen him in person, but have read his books.

Response: Thanks. I have never heard of him. I don't get into things that distract me from the front that I engage, too much, and I'm not a big reader. I would rather just read the Bible than worry myself about what others think when they read it. Unless that is that those others begin impacting my circle.

You take something I said in one point and plug it into something altogether different.

The Bible tells us the nature of man in Romans one. It is what God has said. It is not at the provocation of demonic spirits. It is the way of man.

Yet even, you, the continual Gerald-gainsayer, has to see that there is a difference between "trying the spirits" and taking a Pagan Idol, ascribing all sorts of power to it and blaming it for all the evil in a country several thousand years after Elijah proved Baal was nothing, couldnt even light a match and couldnt even hear the cry of his own prophets.

Or, has it been revealed to Sheets that Baal has finally awakend or come
back from vacation!?

Gosh, it's a good thing the Elijah contest dosent happen now, sheets has Baal so powerful he'd singe Elijahs hiney hair.

I always like the way Pentecostals defend the great power of Demons, have a great REVEALED knowledge of the occult and won't raise an eyebrow when someone preaches Jesus wasnt God, or was raped by Roman soldiers, or that God was just an old man.

scooter wrote:The fact that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God seems to put us in the position of using those weapons.

How far does that go?

Do we pray against demons?

Exorcise cities?

Ward of people with charms and lockets?

There is no need for superstition. No warrant for it in scripture. And you can't excuse it by twisting scripture.

scooter wrote:Many Christians today don't even acknowledge that there is a war on, let alone teach to endure like a good soldier or fight any fight.

Most Christians, hmmm? There is a war on indeed: To bring people back to a grounding in scripture and not an enslavement to warrantless superstition.

Even so, because there are extremes does not negate the fact that an extra-Biblical or NON-biblical statement has been made.

Baal was An IDOL. A thing of wood or stone.

Now what has this Pentecostal made him into?

Do you really thing God is happy that an Idol is being feared in a day when his spirit has been poured out?

Nonsense and the babbling of idiots.

What?

I mean cause mine says in 1 Timothy that Adam was not deceived.

So are YOU saying he was compelled to do what he did?
