Converts to COGOP?

I was just curious how many on this board are converts to the COGOP from other EVANGELICAL churches or especially if there are those who transfered to COGOP from other Pentecostal or Charismatic groups?

I grew up Baptist and started attending Cogop when I was around 17 yrs old. Definately not a pentecostal or charismatic background for me.

started attending local COGOP in '81 and joined the following year.
Background is Baptist.

grew up "evangelical" then got religious and attended baptist, got saved and attended pentecostal. followed God's leading and merged with COGOP, after GA recommendations passed, I became a member. in a wait and see mode for ordination.

why do you ask?

I was raised in the Independant Assembly of god organization but we had strong ties to the COG. I joined the COGOP as a teen and found it to be too legalistic so I quit altogether. When I started attending church agin I went to the COG and then back to the COGOP finally.

The day God spoke to my wife and told her that we were going to the COGOP, she cried! She went to the altar and pleaded with God cuz she didn't want to go.
