What laughter does..

...it says, I care about you enough to make you laugh.. to laugh at myself, even, if necessary, becoming a clown at my own expense in order to lighten your load and brighten your day. :)

One thing I loved about President Ronald Reagan was that despite his high and dignified position, he could laugh at himself. He had a wit and desire to lighten serious circumstances, including the day he was shot, with humor.

Care to share other benefits or times when laughter alleviated tense moments or problems in your life?

After having a rough day, both my husband (at work) and myself (family  ) we were "discussing" some things when things began to get quite tense. As I was sitting there, I just started to laugh, making smart aleck comments ( I tend to do that) and the situation was turned into something light and funny. We both needed the laughter, and it definitely made us both feel better, much better than an argument would have!

I love to laugh. I don't have a dainty, cute little laugh. No, you can hear my laugh from one end of the house to the other. But you never have to question if I am enjoying myself!

Many times in my life laughter has pulled me through a tough situation or just made life a little easier.

I do believe in the old saying that "laughter is the best medicine."

Laughter

Laughter releases endorphins and relieves stress. I really enjoy a good rousing laugh-out-loud as often as possible.

This may not be what you are seeking, but the greatest times for me have been the times laughter came freely as a natural byproduct of spiritual joy overflowing within my belly. When God brings the laughter, it's indescribable. I have only experienced laughter on a spiritual level about 5 or 6 times, but it's truly awesome.

I am a big giggler, just can't controll it when or where it starts the only thing I ever got into trouble for at school was for giggling. The older boys would get me into trouble at church making me giggle.Like YR it was a loud giggle.

My son and I often got a stern look from my husband for giggling in public.we could look at each other make a face like my grandfather and off we would go.we tried to be out of town when we would do thiis.

I hope I giggle until I die,it makes my heart glad.

Laundry Soap

Sixteen years ago (I won’t ever forget!)...

We were having financial problems – living week to week. While in the grocery store, I walked past the laundry detergent, knowing I would need more soon but passing it up temporarily because of a lack of funds. When I got home, I put a load of laundry in and went to throw my empty soap bottle in the big trash bin outside the back door. Inside the trash bin was a huge box of “Purex” powdered laundry detergent which was barely used. It stunned me so good - I slammed the top of the bin down (leaving the soap there) and went inside wondering where in the world it had come from. The Lord was letting me know that he was there in the small things of life and that he knew my needs and could even read my thoughts not expressed out loud. He gave me the words “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Being a new Christian, I didn’t even know that was Scripture at first; but the words played over and over until I decided to search the Bible and found it in Philippians 4:19. I laughed and laughed. When I finally collected myself, I went back out and got the box of soap. That box of soap lasted for a really long time! Every time I went to do the laundry, I laughed. When it was finally empty, I cut out the front of the box and wrote out the Scripture the Lord had led me to and hung it over my washer.

By the way, I ended up finding out who had put it in there, but the only significance in that is that God can use any means or persons to accomplish His will to provide for His children.

Thank you Lord for your tender loving mercies!

What a Powerful testimony!

I enjoy laughing and making people laugh. Especially when I preach. I believe God has gifted me to do that, like Pastor Gary said it is a stress relief.

We have a motto our house, "Pray with our ceasing, Laugh without ceasing"

That is awesome- that often happens to a dear friend of mine (who visits Jude2) and when it does, her laughter is infectious. :)

I like that you did that... that is like setting up an altar or a memorial of what God has done so you can never forget.. :)

I love to make people laugh and also to laugh myself, so I try to surround myself with people that have the same sense of humor I do. I have gotten so tickled driving at times I've just about had to pull over.

Good Medicine! I always enjoy finding each persons "sense" of humor.

Some laugh at jokes. Some laugh at situations. Some laugh at others pain :? .. where does yours lie?

People are hilarious to me, their personalities and ways of dealing with life. There are a couple of kids in my class who are so cute and clueless.. they just don't have a care in the world. :)

[quote]When God brings the laughter, it's indescribable.

I have felt this indescribable laughter. It is the most wonderful feeling I have ever had. I'm one of those kind that can't just quit once i get started.
All you would have to do is look at me and I would laugh.
At work one time, this was after i got this spiritual blessing, I was still getting blessed the next day with laugher. My co-workers thought I was going crazy. They ask me what I had been drinking. I told my friend that this was a close to drunk as they would ever see me.
