Saw that earlier. You know my thoughts on Huckabee, but that was about as shallow and insulting as anything I've ever seen in terms of a headline and a point of view. Don't know who "saw" a cross in that. If that's a cross, then Huckabee needs to avoid riding through intersections that cross at 90 degrees. Somebody might mistake it for a grounded, extravagantly permanent state-sponsored religious symbol. Sounds like something old Michael "Remove The Pledge" Newdow would come up with.

I really think the cross thing was just made up to get people to watch the video which then drops something really controversial, that Huckabee thinks Christmas is all about Jesus. Foxnews.com is reporting that headline.

it's a backpan to "Christmas" stuff. duh. maybe they should call ghosthunters to be sure, though.

My question is, what SHOULD have been in the background of a message about Jesus' birth? A golden Buddha? A Star of David?

He was specifically saying Happy Birthday to Jesus, and the cross is a symbol of Jesus. Of course the Director lit the shelf edge to look cross-like; it was a nice piece of video editing, too.

You can drown drunk girls, have sexual dalliances in the Oval Office, shred documents, cross-dress, flip-flop on major issues and be a member of, arguably, a cult... but the mention of Jesus will scare the pants off the ACLU and the big city liberals.

The Jeff Foxworthy sound bite at the CMA's describes most Huckabee supporters: "We get up and go to work, we get up and go to Church, and we get up and go to war when necessary."

(NOTE: I am not endorsing Huckabee... I just hate to see people acting all intimidated by outspoken people of faith, just for saying the "J" word.)

How many crosses do you see here? The background is a christmas tree sitting at a window and put into motion, showing only one of the cross-members. (Could be a bookcase but looks like a window also.)

I think he was standing behind Wade Phillips, and his head was so large it blocked BM.

That is what i was thinking.....

I actually noticed the cross the first time I watched the video. I wondered if it were intentional but figured it was just coincidental that the windowpane behind him resembled a cross!
