Okay my Granddaughter got a Ipod Shuffle for christmas.

Whats the dilly . I plugged it up to my computer and it came up saying something about sync and erasing.

????? Why erase ???

It appears if you plug it up to computer A and download songs and try to plug it up to Computer B it erases what you have on there .. IF SO

Thats Dumb..

I think the idea is that you are supposed to sync to a single computer.

That is how Apple keeps from being sued by the RIAA and ensures you are not simply copying music from PC to PC.

You have to Sync it with one iTunes on one PC. There are ways around it, but for a shuffle, it really isn't worth the hassle. Just pick a PC, move all the songs to iTunes on that PC and have at it.

Thanks I spoke with someone who has an ipod. Yep Your advice is correct.

If get some music for my Gkids I will just put on CD and give to them.

Still like a plain ol MP3 player.

Exactly... but don't blame Apple.. blame the record companies. Remember Napster? Exactly.

still blame apple. most other regular MP3 players don't have this limitation.

apple caved to the pressure when I should have the right to sync an ipod with music on my laptop and my desktop and my wifes desktop for that matter...

I can burn a cd from mp3's on my computers, my wifes computer, and my neighbors down the street if I want (even if it is illegal) and then take them to whichever computer I choose to sync to and rip the tracks back to mp3.. this does nothing more thanupset geeks and make them find ways around it and then encourage them to do it just because they've been told they can't...
