It's been a great couple of weeks . . .

But in the morning I must begin my journey back to the frozen tundra of Tennessee. For once it looks like I have good traveling weather, although they are calling for the possibility of costal flurries early in the morning. :? This is FLORIDA!!! It doesn't snow here! It's all Al Gore's fault, with his "global warming." He's gotten eveything all turned around and upside down.

I'll be in Macon tomorrow night and then home on Friday night. So y'all play nice while I'm on the road.

Day One

472.2 miles, and it feels like every one of them was under construction. Over the last 24 years I have made this drive, or a longer one to the Ft. Lauderdale area, numerous times, and I can't remember a single time where I have run into as much road destruction  , opps, I mean road construction. Now I wish that I had invented those orange and white barrels, I'd be rich beyonnd my wildest dreams. Add to the destruction heavy traffic, cold windy conditions (15 -20 mph winds with 35 - 40 mph gust), and just plain stupid drivers. Today was not a good day. On a trip where I normally average 75 - 80 mph, today I averaged only 58 mph. Well tomorrow is the shorter leg of the trip, and once I,m past Atlanta it should be alot easier.

Wow. The legal speed limits in the south are much higher than I remember them. I mean, TW wouldn't break the law, would he??

You best be careful little brother, obey the laws and drive safe. It has been great and the house feels empty without you. Cupcake misses you, no one to sit outside with her :( , it is still too cold for me to stay outside but tomorrow it is supposed to get to 60 and back into the 70s by Saturday.

In Florida at least, I think going 75 was only 5 over.(trying to remember).. so, it is a little higher down south!

Watch it, though- Sam got busted on our trip to the Brownsville Revival.. and we had church members driving behind us who got busted even worse!   (I was mad at him that day)

Day two:
310.5 miles at an average speed of 71 mph. A little less of the road destruction, and alot fewer people that got their drivers license out of a box of Cracker Jacks. All around a much better day.
