Cat Vs. Coon

I heard some calamity in the garage a little earlier and my female cat was upset with a huge coon for eating her food. I watched through the door window as the coon didn't mind her hissing antics very much, but just enjoyed the meal. Of course, when I opened the door the coon bolted out under the garage door which was open about six inches. :D

Now I know where all that food has been going. :(

Don't know how he got in, but 2 weeks ago we had --- believe it or not --- a baby flying squirrel in our house. He glided (glid? glad?) from the hearth in the living room to the love seat, ran down the hall into my daughter's playroom, and proceeded, on pursuit by my wife (I was at the store) to zip zap around the room with his little webbed armpits giving him flight. My brother was at the store with me, I was running the register (cashier sick) and I had him come get it. He returned 15 minutes later with the little critter in a gift bag. A customer in the store proclaimed it was a water glider or sugar glider or something like that, but it wasn't (I looked 'em up online, never heard of 'em before -- it wasn't one). She wanted it. I let her have him.

I just had this conversation with someone yesterday that had a problem with coons. They care absolutely nothing about cats and will walk all over them.

Get a coon trap and this is the key part as the coon can bypass most traps... throw some bread in the back part of it and pour honey thru the top of the cage and let it soak into the bread and floor.

They can't resist it. The guy I was speaking with said that he never could catch one until an old man told him this secret. Then he caught over NINE in his backyard.

YOu have a lot more courage than I do to put this topic on the board.lol

Hope your cat has sense enough to stay clear of the coon. He will kill that cat if he is threatened.

Now send a ferret out there and watch the fireworks ....it's like a mongoose and a cobra.

Last night as my wife arrived from a trip, she noticed two coons in the backyard chasing something black up a tree. My cat just sat on the drive and watched the action from safe distance. :D
