Or am I the only one. Yeah, Yeah, I know if you are saved you will be fine. However, they are so many different opinions on what, when and where. I just prefer not to talk about it.

I sometimes get aggrivated talking about this topic because some feel they have every prophecy perfectly figured out and everyone else is wrong. I love to discuss the thought and topic with people who can discuss it rationally.

Have any of you ever thought you hope your kids have a chance to grow up before the rapture or anything to that extent. Maybe hope you have the chance to have kids. I remember my sister felt that way and then felt guilty for it. Anyway just curious.

Early on, I had thought about it, but now, not so much as I don't currently happen to believe in a "rapture of the church". :)

not a topic I otherwise like to talk about. it brings up too much consternation with so many folks that "know" they are right, whatever their view.

No that's not quite right.

I love to talk about just about anything regarding scripture. But people tend to have quite a few assumptions, pour meanings into words that the words themselves contradict, and have New testament people talking nonsense in a way that if they themselves talked would have people questioning their sanity.

One can not take other parts of the Bible and create an interpretation that makes Jesus spout nonsense elsewhere. How are we comfortable with interpretations and strong held beliefs that make Jesus talk like a lying fool?

It is not so much that i have an establsihed belief I am defending, it is the fact that the base upon which some beliefs are constructed is fragile Bibliclally AND PEOPLE DON'T LIKE to have their sacred cows gored.

As for me, I find that often people who are focused upon endless eschatology discussions can lose interest in ministering to people in the here and now. Not always -- it's a generalization.

It's a fact that someday, something will happen. I don't want to miss today fretting about tomorrow.

When I was gathering information for a big article on the end times, one nationally prominent pastor was extremely cordial but pretty much told me he didn't like talking about it either. :D

I love to singa

"Many will meet their doom"

Now who sat down and thought.......Jesus is coming soon... He's gonna pop some people's balloon,,no,,no You better believe this tune,,no,,no I've got it Many will meet their DOOM.

Oh the joy.

We need to be careful that we don't equate Christ's coming again with what many teach concerning the "rapture".

I have found it interesting the focus that I have heard since a small child (and still today) about going to heaven. The end result is not going to heaven, we will spend eternity here on earth (or new earth, depending on how you view it).

Response: All the descriptives used to describe "heaven" were actually taken from the account of the new Jerusalem.

The word rapture is never actually used in scripture, however Jesus is indeed coming back for his own. I find it intriguing that any Christian wouldn't desire to talk about the return of our Savior.

Paul longed for Christ's appearing and admonished future Christians to do the same.

2 Timothy 4:8
8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

To the contrary, the Bible tells us that mockers and scoffers will talk about Christ's return in a trivial way.

2 Peter 3:3-4
3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming?
