'Islamic Jesus' hits Iranian movie screens
http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id ... _article=1

A director who shares the ideas of Iran's hardline president has produced what he says is the first film giving an Islamic view of Jesus Christ, in a bid to show the "common ground" between Muslims and Christians.

... referring to two key differences: Islam sees Jesus as a prophet, not the son of God, and does not believe he was crucified.

The bulk of "Jesus, the Spirit of God", which won an award at the 2007 Religion Today Film Festival in Italy, faithfully follows the traditional tale of Jesus as recounted in the New Testament Gospels, a narrative reproduced in the Koran and accepted by Muslims.

But in Talebzadeh's movie, God saves Jesus, depicted as a fair-complexioned man with long hair and a beard, from crucifixion and takes him straight to heaven.

******

Whew.. Glad he cleared that up.

as portrayed in teh movie, apparently. does Islam believe the historical Jesus was "white"? the answer depends on the definition of "white" vs "black". the biggest argument is that there are portrayals of Jesus as having been "black". I think that Middle-Eastern anthropology and other genetic evidences would say that He is really neither extreme. :).

Isn't it amazing that even with this movie and its dipction of Jesus as a prophet, saved by God. That thru it God could open the eyes of millions of Muslim and they begin to ask more about this one called Jesus. =D>

That was just my "teaser" headline to excite. The article simply states he was "fair skinned".. and the movie shot apparently followed that mantra.

I'm actually more interested in Paul's take and enjoy his positive review.

How is that amazing? Does not the Koran teach the same story and yet how many Jesus worshipers does the Koran bring?

I am not convinced that Jesus No matter how he is defined, IS Jesus.

Gerald, as you know. In most all extreme Islamic countries trying to convert someone to Christ is punishable by imprisonment and even death is some cases. One cannot just go about expressing that Jesus Christ is Lord, and that the muslim needs to convert.

Film like this that can be viewed by the masses gives an open door. Many times this can alow the Holy spirit to begin to work in their hearts. It can cause them to ask questions even from someone they might know to be a chirstian. Also from experience I have learned from converted muslims that many references to Jesus in the Koran are skipped over or just mentioned in passing.

As TW in one of his post: I see the glass half full others might see this as a glass half empty.
