I would not recommend that to my worst enemy. There was a football game so the road in front of the motel was blocked. was a nightmare. but the worst part was the mice and roaches.

I will give my .02 cents again. I think the best value, if you don't mind driving in, is the Maxwell House hotel. It is a nice interior-access hotel with a restaurant, etc. I have stayed there many times.

I already have reservations made for my Mom and me at Hampton Inn, about 1 1/2 blocks from the center.

I've worked in the Ramada, electrical work, and would not stay there. :?

I stayed at the Hilton last time and really liked it, so I've already booked it again for this year. It's pricey, but my hubby felt I would be safe there. Plus, there's so many eating places around, if I don't want to eat at it's restuarants I can go somewhere else within a block or two.

I stayed at the Renaissance last time and will this time also... It is expensive, nice but not nice enough for what it cost... Even the restaurant in the hotel is a little pricey... I only stay there because I don't feel safe walking alone in that area at night....or the day for that matter... Volunteering with the Global Outreach office sometimes makes for a long night... I feel safer walking inside...

With as close as they are, I am surprised there wasn't special rates offered and them included on the list, but then, their rates seem to be higher than most listed too, so that could be why.

We don't have reservations yet, but I'm leaning towards Maxwell House, unless we just go out and find something cheaper.

So true, Cndlou. We also stayed at the Renaissance last time and will again this year. I guess we didn't learn our lesson. Our room with double beds was so small, we felt as though we were in a closet. You should forget eating there unless your card has a large limit.

Thanks for the feedback on Assembly Hotels.

The properties listed are those with which we currently have contracts.

So far, Hampton has not been able to get their rate attractive enough for an agreement, but we are still working on it.

Our newest agreement is with Homewood Suites. Some of the benefits:
Within walking distance
Hot breakfast daily - included in rate
Dinner (Monday - Thursday) - included in rate
Full kitchens in every room

Again, thanks for the feedback.

Blessings,

Paul

That doesn't sound bad, of course I'm on the cheap side, (as long as it's clean, and safe)

Rates drop once you get out of the center of the city, we stayed out in Murphfreesboro last year, and it wasn't bad, but we may try to get in a little closer this time.

One thing for anyone looking to go cheap, check with someone in the area, there are parts of Nashville you don't want to be in, last year we almost booked at a hotel with very good rates, not too far from where we wanted, but then ilovegcats warned us that it was NOT a good area or good hotel (basically a place known for offering hourly rates if you know what I mean!)

Speaking of which, how is the Avondale/Brick Church Pike area look, there are some cheap places out there, only 3-4 miles from the Sommet.
