For all you smart parents,
Can you tell me how College get a child address?
Lindsey is only in the 10th grade and she is got stuff from a College the other day. (Lee University )
To my knowledge, she has not ask for anything to be sent to her. I did not think they send stuff out unless you asked for it
Shows what I know.

Did she take the PSAT? I started getting college info after taking it, from several places I had never heard of and several that didn't even offer anything remotely close to what I wanted to go to college for.
Which if she's in 10th grade, now is the time to start doing research into scholarships and colleges.

That's how they got it, most likely. After I took the PSAT, I got a flood of brochures from colleges.

That's exactly what happened. I'm currently working for the Registrar's office at Pepperdine......before this I was in the Admission office. We would get tapes after every major test date. Request information on sophomores and juniors who scored above a certain # and that marked Christian or some other classification....and BAM!......we had a major marketing campaign delivered with no preparation on our part.
Get ready....it only gets worse from here.
BTW.....if your daughter is looking to get as far away as she can, I know of a beautiful campus on the west coast!

Lee has an incredible Teacher ed program if she does choose to go there. I graduated with a teacher ed degree from Lee as did several of my good friends. Wonderfully talented teachers that will teach not only how to be an excellent teacher, but also how to be a witness in public schools.

Lee is the first place that send her anything, she was so "WOW" by it.
I do not think she has a first clue where she will go, She just wants to be a teacher. She has been wanting that for a long time.

there are lots of places with great teaching curricula. financial aid shouldn't be a problem either, though it isn't usually very intuitive. some of the schools are more hands-on with helping with that area than others.
but based on the previous thread, hitting the books would be a good thing as she decides (if she hasn't already begun to get more serious about it already).
