A.J.'s House for Sale

I sneaked a look at my uncle's copy of The Evening Light yesterday, and saw on the back a piece about A. J. Tomlinson's house being up for sale. Anyone else hear about this? I've actually seen it before in person while enduring a guided "look what they've done to the church" tour (which included such sights as the former site of the assembly tabernacle, Shearer schoolhouse, first assembly meeting, FOTW, etc.), but that's my own traumatic experiences. Anyone want to own a part of their COGOP/TCOG/COG/TCOGNC/(insert splinter group acronym here) heritage? Well here's your chance!

Reading on their doctrine under worship,

Worship: True worshipers will worship God in Spirit and in Truth (John 4:23-24). Worship services of God's people are not programmed but are led and ordered by the Spirit of the Lord. As was the practice of the early morning church and as the reformers also taught, musical instruments are not used in active worship service. Ministers are not formally trained but are called by God to preach the gospel under the anointing of the Holy Spirit

For any TCOG people on this site, are instruments not allowed during worship?

Why was that in the Evening Light? Is TCOG trying to come up with the money to buy the house or something?

We could buy it, rename it the Jude2 Home for Craziness Recovery and make it a museum of wacky spinoff groups.

NO a member in the TCOG bought the house and renevated it and is now selling it, so someone made the article on the evening light that it was going up for sale, TCOG member already owned it.

We worship with all instraments :wink:

I was privileged to stay in that house as a dorm while attending BTC/BTI.

It was a unique privilege and is a great memory. My wife made cakes to send to all the guys staying there. D. Frank Hughes and I were room mates.
Others who stayed there became prominent in the church over the years.

Lots of history there.....too bad it was given away.
