My Trip to Nicaragua - Thank you....

Hi! I’m Sharita Joy Liner. My parents are Joey and Kenya Simmons.
I’m going on a mission trip in November to an orphanage in Managua, Nicaragua to deliver clothes and Christmas presents to children who wouldn’t get those presents any other way.
I’ve never been on a missions trip before but this is a dream come true to me. I have been praying for a long time for God to reveal to me what He wants me to do with my life. I’ve been reading a lot of books about Christian Martyrs (the story of Rachel Joy Scott, Jesus Freaks, Sister Freaks) and those stories really dug deep into my soul. One Sunday at the altar, God told me that He wanted to use me as a missionary for Him. He didn’t tell me where or when, but I believe that is the calling He has placed on my life. Later, I learned from my aunt that my grandfather, Pastor John Silvers, always hoped that my mom would be a missionary. When he died, I made a promise that I would be my grandfather’s legacy and proclaim the gospel too. This is my starting place.
I will be going with my mom’s roommate from college, Naomi Adcock Thompson who will take very good care of me and be my fill-in “mom” for the week. The trip is sponsored by the “River of Life Church of God” in Cummings, GA. My total trip cost is $1325.00. If you would like to help, please contact me. Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated. If you can’t afford to help financially, your prayers mean just as much.

I know I am a moderator, but apparently not a very good one because I don't know how to make this a sticky post. Can someone smarter than me help????

Can someone on here vouch for her......I like to support missions....but I like to know who I'm supporting.
Hope no one finds that offensive....I just don't know her. But would like to do a little something if it's a ligit project.

Pastor Daniel,
I think that your investment in a mission trip for this young lady would prove to be fruitful. She is the daughter of Jude 2's own Kenya and Joey, and I would imagine that she to is a member of Pastor Bill's flock. I can't blame you for being cautious about supporting missions when you know little or nothing of the people involved, that is just being prudent.

prolly just missed it, but this is the daughter of Jude2's Joey and Kenya (a moderator), as TW mentioned. I don't know them personally, but I would trust my life with them from communications here and off-board.

Yes this is Kenya's Daughter, and a very wonderful young woman, she has had a heart for missions, and this opportunity will be wonderful for her.
I'm currently the proud pastor, and will vouch for her in any way I can.

First, I wanted to say thank you so much to those of you who have contributed or committed to contributing or praying. It means so much. She is only $100 shy of her August 1st deadline - which is really wonderful considering it's only mid July.
Secondly, I was honored to be a service Sunday with a missionary who has committed his life to missions. He was once (his words) a pot smoking, beer drinking, pervert who said "yes" to the call of God and has since been in over 30 countries telling others about Jesus. He has been in harm's way and has just come back from the Sudan where people close to his proximity were captured. He and his wife have three children and one on the way. His oldest daughter is 18.
During some research, he found a letter from the 1800's that was addressed from a young man to the father of the young girl he wanted to marry. The young man who was proposing marriage was a missionary. The minister shared a portion of the letter with us. It said something like this ...."I ask for your daughter's hand that I make take her to a foreign land and you may never see her again in this life."
As the minister explained that when he read this letter, it occurred to him that if he and his wife had to come to a decision like this one, that their answer would be "yes". I too thought of my precious, Sharita Joy. I know this trip to Nicaragua is just a simple trip to an orphanage, but she really has missions in her heart and she has the goal of the real work of the kingdom, not just to be satisfied sitting in some fluffy church pew. I think this trip may just spark a match. If one of my children was going to fulfill this particular call, Sharita would be the one. So, as I sat in that service, I answered God and said "yes", You can have my daughter - again.
How much does that leave?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is only for the first half right?
