Any more you can add as to why you think that? Do you think this position is unimportant, or are you basing this on something else?

Palma is a woman.
My point.
Just curious as to who this person is and the relationship to youth ministries.

I was in the COGOP during a large period of her tenure as youth ministries coordinator.
She did some good things in there, but honestly I don't see how a position as international youth ministry coordinator is relevant to the local church. They could eliminate the position, save some money and really begin to show the focus on youth needs to originate from the local churches. I think it's a good move.
I have the letter she typed out to state and regional youth directors on my website:

I think it's an important role within the church so I don't see them doing away with it. But I haven't heard either way. I was just wondering if anyone has heard who would be filling the position.

I can appreciate Palma's work & the stability she has added to the youth department. I'm trying to remember how long she's been the youth director. Seems like I remember her being put in after they had the first assembly in Louisville? Didn't she take over after Bubba?
I realize she adds a lot of maturity to the position - but would think a younger leader might be a little more in touch with the younger generation. I'd be curious to go back & see how long others have held the position - but I don't recall anyone holding it a very long time.
I'd hate to see the position elimated. I could possibly see it more of a part time position? I'd be curious to know the full scope of the position at this time. Just to organize conferences & an assembly program - or assiting in other capacities?
They pretty much elimated the Youth Leader position in our state/territory & when they did - many of the youth activities died out as well. I can understand the importance of focusing on the local level - but I miss those times of refreshing & fellowship I had with my "peers" on a regional level.

From what I could see at the last GA, Palma's hands were pretty much tied anyway.
Well

I don't know if full-time or part-time, but according to Sis. Palma's letter posted by EB and the one I received via e-mail from Sis. Palma a month ago, Bishop Howard will be appointed a new Youth Ministries Director. So, while we don't know from sure, at least Sis. Palma is under the impression that a new one will be appointed at the IA.
God Bless You

My best guess is Wade Patterson who currently serves as youth pastor at Peerless Road in Cleveland. That opinion comes with no authority or inside knowledge. However, I have felt for sometime that he would be a strong candidate with great experience working in and around the International conferences, assemblies, etc... I was right on Billy Murray to Overseer.
