Dr. Ron, you nailed that one.
I was sitting in the arena when all this took place. I felt like I was at work. I see this every few months. What every one saw in that arena Sunday was a professional way to let someone go.
The VP of the company I work for does the same thing. He has a big celebration, gives out awards, gives a speech on all the great things the person has done for the company, then lets them go to pursue other oportunities. It was classic corporate america. And like I said, very professional. If you have to let people go, this is the way to do it.

Larry Duncan was in KY doing some leadership training not too long ago, and sort of implied that his time at IO was coming to a close. I don't remember exactly what he said, but I believe he was stepping down to focus on some other things.

Now I get it, the church is part of "classic corporate america".

I didn't say the church was classic corporate america......I was just saying that changes were made in a very professional manner, like they should be. The whole assembly was that way. Very professional and kind. Nobody was talked down. It was great. I think we are seeing a new day in the COGOP.

From what I saw on that stage, Bro. Billy did NOT look happy about all this (the "moving the boat" comment certainly supports my perception).
I don't know all the behind the scenes stuff here, but the perception of some will be that he was forced out. That is a shame.
I love Bro. Howard and I think he and the presbyters did a great job with this Assembly. We are generally moving in a very positive direction right now. However, I think it is a grave mistake to allow Bro. Billy to get away from us, when he is one of our most anointed ministers. We should have kept funding VOS if only to keep Bro. Billy. Our loss will be someone elses huge gain.
I hope I'm wrong about this and I hope Bro. Billy will be back after a few years. It doesn't seem too hopeful right now though.

I wish there would be more clarification from someone that really knows....we could all kill ourselves with speculation!
Is he leaving the COGOP...that's what I want to know...ministries do change and so does leadership...I'm fine with that....but I wasn't in the meeting and some of you guys are giving the impression that he is leaving the COGOP.

There are answers, but it is best Bro. Wilson answers these questions.

From what was said on the stage (and that's all I'm going by), the impression was that he was not leaving COGOP, per se, but was leaving any specific ministry or leadership role within COGOP.
In other words, it seemed to me that he would still be a member of COGOP, but any ministry that he would be doing would be outside COGOP. If so, what a loss!
