I was just curious how many attended with it being in Nashville this year.
I tried to ask this in another thread when someone made a statement about the attendance but all I got was one of those off the wall comments from Gerald that made no sense to me (not sure if I missed the joke or sarcasm)

Just curious about how many you all had come and did it seem to be more then the last I.A.?

we had close to 2 dozen attend from Washington State.

They stopped counting years ago...I personally thought the crowd was down from two years ago but there were no major doctorinal issues being discussed...We've been fighting for 10 years about various things...This was a refreshing assembly in more ways than one!

We had 4 from our local church that attended - but I talked
to several in our district (Southeast Missouri) that attended.
Several drove down for 1 day or 2 days. I heard
several folks say they wanted to attend this year as it
was the closest it would most likely be for awhile & they
weren't certain if they would get to go to the next one
with the greater distance.

so nobody knows whether it was 10,000 or around 15,000, 20,000 , or only 8000

I was just curious it looked like a lot of people....

It was a great crowd.

One Love - not speaking on any official behalf - only
taking a guess - The Sommet Center shows seating
capacity of 18,500 when set up with a stage as they
had it for the assembly.

They had the 2 upper levels closed (not sure what that
knocks out - maybe 4,000? - possibly less - couldn't
find anything showing that seating capacity?)

The cameras were showing primarily the front of the auditorium -
where the majority of folks were seated. There were quite a few
empty seats in the rear. I'd venture to say that at the evening
with the largest attendance - they were possibly 3/4 full (possibly
less)

That would give around 10,000 to 11,000 people.

That doesn't take into account all the people that came & left
on different days. I know lots of folks that drove in for 1 or 2 days
at the beginning of the week - lots of folks that left on Friday, Saturday, etc.

Also doesn't take into account the children that were in other services &
all the teeny boppers that were wandering around the halls or
hanging out with their friends.

I'd guess probably at least 12,000 to 14,000 people or more had visisted
if you factor all the above in. That may be a high estimate? Anybody
else care to venture a guess?

Would have been nice if they had a registration booth to have
gotten a more accurate count.

I think your estimate was fairly accurate. Though it is hard to account for those who attended only part of the Assembly.

To me the biggest crowd was Friday night. However I know a few that left on friday morning.

So who knows

Randy Howard said it cost about $500,000.00 to have the assembly...If 12,000 people showed up, we'd need each one to give about $42.00 to off set the price.

Here's a question...Is what you (or anyone) get from the assembly worth $500,000.00 every two years?

Free, that is a great thought and question. My wife and I discussed this on the way home.

I was surprised by that amount also. However I would hate to see it go to four years since I enjoy getting to see everyone. But that amount.....

You had to know that the Sommet Center wasn't cheap.

There had to be 12,000 plus on Friday night from the pics I saw. I'd guess some local folks (CoGiC) showed to hear the Church of God in Christ minister. They have a HQ hear in Nashville.

I understood 4500 to be the biggest crowd (Tuesday/Wednesday business sessions, IIRC); but I think that was Friday afternoon when i heard that, so don't know what it was after that.

The stage was 25 feet (or so) forward of what it was last time (biggest crowd, as I understand was 6500). and the 2nd and 3rd floor was closed, as mentioned.

the prayer sessions were, by far the least attended of the fully public venue sessions in the main auditorium. It appeared that many only came to those (late) so that they could attend the late morning sessions.
If there were 10k-13k, then we have 500 people coming to our church every Sunday. hehehehhee
