Has anyone heard who is going to be the new pastor after the first of the year?

They have not chosen a pastor yet. I think the search committee has just begun meeting as of late.

Maybe. Maybe not. But it would make sense to choose a seasoned leader with some kind of track record, would it not? A church full of white-haired retired pastors and overseers could chew a rookie up and eat him for lunch.

Possibly, but isn't it sad that this is even an issue for us to be able to joke about? Wasn't David a rookie when he accomplished the defeat of Goliath before Saul, his brothers, and the entire Israeli army?

I understand what you are saying, but I think it would be a blessed event if organizational leaders would start allowing for the positioning of God's selected leaders, regardless of the white-hairs and their "status in conference".

Hey, I am living proof... not related to anybody, not exactly an institutional favorite, and an unlikely leader. It happens.
