Big change NEEDED for Peerless Rd. Church

I don't know about anyone else, but I believe that Peerless Rd. is in desperate need for something different. The church has great potential and has had some wonderful ministers. However, it is time to allow God to do something new. I believe a YOUNG pastor needs to be given the opportunity to step up. The church needs someone with new life, new ideas, and a new vision while still upholding the Bible's truths. It is so sad to attend state conventions and assemblies, year after year and have no young ministers present behind the pulpit. The church is forgetting about the younger ministers that are on fire for God that have a breath of fresh air to add to this generation. I really believe if Peerless would put a younger minister in position, that God would move like never before. Time to think outside the box and take a chance.
Always do what you've always done and you'll always get what you've always got!

Welcome to Jude2.
Now, select another username.
I am personally uncomfortable that you use WWC (my church initials) as a login here, as it is likely to create confusion and lead to people mistaking your views for mine.
Email me at
gary@windwardworship.com with your choice of new username and I will change it for you.

My username stands for walking with Christ and I would prefer to leave it the way it is. Initials could stand for lots of things, and I don't think anyone would think of a specific church. Hope it will not be a problem. Thanks and God bless.

Gary it didn't strike me of being connected to your local church at all. Jude2 is on a different level.
But changing is your choice.

What happened to the pastor that was there???
I know they had relatives (
a child I think) that posted here.
Youth is not bad, so long as the young minister is spiritually mature and qualified.

It could bring a sense of revitalization to your congregation. Who knows!
That said, who are available candidates for the job? How many and which of them are young?
Oh, btw -- How young is young?
Of course as close as your congregation's facilities are with the Keith Street congregation's facilities I don't understand why you guys don't merge.

So

So you'd be okay with a new user named MacL|ser, or MacUsen something that is close to your username?

First, I hear your cry for fresh leadership, that is what comes out of the post. In your estimation that means a younger person, fresh Ideas. I am not certain as to your meaning of Bible Truths. If you mean the foundations of the Faith or Traditions of man. If the latter then young Leader, Old Traditions are a contridiction.
Also there is an over generalization that leaps out at a person my age. It is the misquided notion that fresh air, new ideas, thinking outside the box is some how tied to age. Nothing could be futher from the truth.
you take old codgger's like Dr. Ron, Pastor Gary,

, they think out side the box and are probably more progressive and effective than many much...much...much younger pastors who have neither the experience nor ability to take a church steeped in tradition to another level.
Again I understand what you desire.. Just don't think you are approaching it with an open mind.

wwc...What makes you say that a younger pastor is the solution? Are there signs of slow or no growth at the church? Are souls not begin saved? Just curious about your concerns.
Change?

It's not like their username is Pastor Gerry or something. I didn't associate the wwc with your church either.

As far as how young is young? I am hesitant to address a specific "age" here. That would be far too limiting. I just, personally, see a trend in what the church is leaning toward as a whole. We have some very educated, talented, and annointed young ministers sitting in smaller churches/congregations that should be used. Someone made a reference on another posts about "young" David defeating a giant. He most certainly was not "seasoned" yet quite effective at carrying through the will of God.

As far as the question of carrying on with the foundations of faith or the traditions of man....NO QUESTION! I am of the opinion the latter should never become the focus of someone's ministry. We are here to win souls and lead them to Christ through the word of God first and formost. All that said, I'm not implying that the potential candidate's ages need to be the the focus, but be willing to lay aside the stereotype and open the door of possiblities.
