Thanksgiving plans...

Postby one love » November 19th, 2008, 3:10 pm

What are you all doing for thanksgiving?

We are going to be here in Reidsville until around 2:00pm before we head to Virginia Beach, so we will be able to eat with my wife's family.

We will then be going to see my family in Virginia Beach. I will miss the dinner there but we are going to be able to stay until Saturday or Sunday, which is awesome. I have not been able to spend much time there since we moved here, so they have not been able to spend much time with the kids.
The BEST part.....is gas is only 1.88 a gallon here which means it should only be $1.70 there or less!!!!!! It was costing me a couple hundred in gas now it is only going to be maybe $75.00 Very Happy

As every year

A bunch of the core families of the church gather at the largest home among us, and we have a huge feast with everyone bringing favorite foods. We do this to include all the military guys/gals stationed far from home and the university students who don't go home for the holidays. We usually end up with 20-30 people, including babies and the room is noisy, chaotic and has little dogs running through chasing each other. In other words, wonderful. Good food, good friends, good feast, good fun.

you surround them with your favor as with a shield." (Psalm 5:12)

Flying from Juneau to Seattle, driving from Seattle to Stanfield, Oregon, to be with my parents, sister, nephews and nieces. Hoping for bare pavement over the pass.

My daughter and son-in-law, my granddaughter and grandson-in-law, my grandson, maybe one of the stepsons and of course the great grandbaby, Madeline, will all be here on Thanksgiving and they are doing all the cooking. I am very blessed.

Tomorrow I am in charge of our Thanksgiving dinner at work, 70 people are coming. The department supervisors are supplying the turkey, dressing, gravy and ham. Each section is responsible for a side dish, drinks or pies and I am doing all the decorations. It should be fun because it starts at 11:30 AM and we have to get them fed, out and clean up the room and set it up for a class of 40 students at 4 PM. Only twice a year do we get the entire HR Department together and we are all looking forward to this meal together. I'll post pictures.

I believe we are going to stay here in NC since we went to Ga a couple of weeks ago for that funeral.

It will be fun and relaxing.

Thank you, Jewel. I'll tell my parents hello from you. I hope you and your family have a great Thanksgiving. Will Tim and Mike be with you? Give them my greetings, if so. I hope you are doing well!

We are going to my mom and step dads for Thanksgiving. My sister and her family, plus my grandparents will be there. We haven't spent a holiday together in years. I can't wait!

Then on Saturday, my family has arranged a special dinner at one of our favorite places downtown to celebrate our 25th anniversary. It will be a great weekend!

Thanksgiving morning we'll be right here at home cooking, baking, watching the Macy's parade. About 1:00pm we'll head all the way across town to my sister's to join family and a boatload of friends for a Thanksgiving feast. We'll "graze" all afternoon, watch movies and play board games into the evening.

NO Way !!! Not 25 years....you and David were teenagers in camp just last week.

Have a blessed anniversery

Nancy and I will drive up the coast for a few days. All the kids are scattered this year. Joel will be in Hawaii, Ray back east, Paul heading to Peru. So it will be just nancy and I. I will celebrate my 62 birthday on Wednesday so we will combine everything.
