I stayed all night in his bus one night, and spent Assembly week in his home one year.
I believe he baptized Scooter.
Always wondered what was happening in his life these last few years.
Sorry to hear this.

Jerry was a dear friend. He and I worked in Evangelism for many years together.
He had a radio show in Chatt. in the late 70's and early 80s. I guested on it for him sometime when he was on a long tour.
I ran into him accidentally when I was overseer of Texas. He had moved there after his divorce and remarriage. He was pastoring an independent church. I happened to see the sign one day on a trip to one of our churches. I dropped in on him unannounced the next week. He was gracious to us and we had a wonderful afternoon together. Haven't seen him since that day.
I am so sorry for his passing.

I don't know if this is the same Jerry (Gerald) Goins, but the one I knew re-married a Elizabeth (Liz) after his divorce. Her former married name was Helton..Hilton..?
And he was this age. Is this the same one?
He also had a radio show in this area back in the late 60's early 70's. Pastored the Romulus, MI church. He was one of the preachers/evangelist at my Mothers funeral.

Jerry Goins changed my life for the better when I began to travel as his organist in 1976. He was married to Charlotte and has three children by her, Marshall, Elisha and Rondall. He and Charlotte divorced and he married Elizabeth Helton who had two sons, Darrell and Keith. Jerry and Liz have two sons, Preston and Cody. They have lived in Waco, Texas for many years.
I am a much better man, son, brother, husband, father, preacher and Pastor from having known Jerry Goins.
I grew up in a church culture of condemnation and judgement - Jerry was the first preacher I ever heard speak on Grace. He taught me about the Grace of God. I will forever be thankful for his impartation into my life and ministry.
He was human. He had flaws and made mistakes - but he was a man of God and a great man of Faith. I have great memories of Jerry and loved him like a father. I will miss him.
Please pray for his family.

I agree AtlantaBishop he was a great man of God.
God really used him in different ways. We loved him very much here in Michigan.
He also Pastored the church where I go along with Romulus. Had a radio show here.
Altho, when he pastored Royal Oak I was attending another one of our churchs in the state.
Charlotte was just here in the spring visiting and giving her testimony at a different church that evening.
Bro. Goins wife, Liz, was here just a few months ago at a family funeral. I got to see her then.
I did speak with his wifes neice and she hadn't heard anything about it. But was getting ahold of her Mother. Liz is her aunt by marriage.
Thanks for informing me.

I remember him as being heavier. His face was fuller.
But his family said he'd had bi - pass surgery sometime ago. Maybe the cause of a slimmer Jerry.
