The worse thing for me is when my little girl is sick. It has got to be the worse feeling for a parent not to be able to make them feel better.

Try Dramamine. Cheap, over the counter, works. Equate brand "Motion Sickness" tablets are $5 for 100 of them. A dime a night to go to sleep? Oh, yeah, I can do that.

Let's not forget insomnia, coupled with dyslexia and agnosticism:
That's where you're up all night trying to determine whether or not there is a Dog.

I do have insomnia... I have had issues my whole life. I went to a sleep Dr and he put me on a Cpap.. I told him it wouldn't do any good if I couldn't sleep. I was right.
I can't take something to make me sleep because I have 6 kids that I wont hear if one of them needs something.

Yeah, you will with Dramamine (diphenhydramine, to be generic). It won't knock you cold, it'll just make you sleepy. I take it every night almost. Have for years now. Takes it about 30 minutes to make you feel sleepy, but when you lay down, you just doze off. If something wakes you up, and I'm not the lightest sleeper anyway, you'll hear it and you'll get up. It doesn't make me groggy or anything like that (unlike melatonin, which takes me out and I can really shake it off the next day). It's mild, but effective. Recommended dosage is 1. I take 3, and have for about 3 years. Works fine, I've never felt like "Boy, if I take 4, then I can really, really, really sleep!" My body just was more resistant to it after a while and I eventually discovered that 3 makes me sleepy. Otherwise, I'd be up watching reruns of The Odd Couple or something on Mythbusters or whatever until 2 AM.

On at 2am... Intervention.

Try "Melatonin" 5mg. It's safe and it is not a sleeping pill. You can find in the vitamin section at your local Wal Mart. It helps you relax without doping you up, so you will be able to hear the kids if your need to.

guess when I "get" insomnia, medications is the last thing I thing about; that's when I get out my MP3 player with the KJV Audio Bible and it puts me to sleep rather quickly (usually within an hour or 2). and getting a dose of the Word of God helps too.

heheheeeee

the Chronicles aren't too bad either.

heheee it is interesting, cause if I listen to my NASB, or NIV, or even the Message, I could stay up all night being "engaged" in the audio.

Try a hot cup of "sleepy time" tea. I don't remember which tea brand it is, but it works for my daughter. Will also be praying for you!

Warm tea before bed gives me wet burpy heartburn.

TMI??
I've tried it. All it did was make me burp and sweat. Thanks anyway.
