Curtis Flippo Has Passed

Please be in prayer for my family on my mother's side, the Flippo's, as a loved one has passed. I desire to say more but do not feel it my place. Suffice it for now to say that this person was a mighty minister and testimony to the saving power of God in this area of Alabama and in the ministry of COGOP. He is much loved and will be greatly missed.

Our prayers and thoughts go out to the Flippo family. Yes, this family were great warriors in the COGOP for many years, especially Grandpa, Grandma and their children. Don's family and Ed's family worked with me when I was a youth camp director and coordinator in AL. My wife and I were camp directors for Don and Ed's children and we tried to be a good pastor to Ed and Tim's family in FL. Curtiss was a special musician and friend to my grandfather. May the comfort of the Lord be with them all.

Can you tell us which one of the family passed away?

Hi Tarheelone,

Thank you for the kind words. I had no idea our families were so connected. The reason I had not said anything is the person has closer kin (immediate family) who posts here. I wanted to give ample time for them to post if they desired.

However, with as many hours as have passed since the news was given I can only assume they are in route here already. So...

Curtis Flippo passed away this afternoon. He is the father of our very own "SoulSearcher" here at J2.

Curtis's testimony and ministry are nothing short of witness to the miraculous power of the saving grace of God. I plan to share some of the events I know of over the coming days as a memorial to him and his ministry. So be looking for that.

I'm certain Aunt Pat needs and appreciates our prayers during this difficult time.

Thanks brother. Your a great friend, even though we only know each other via the internet. I appreciate your thoughts and prayers. Pray specially for Mike (aka SoulSearcher), his siblings, and mom. It's gotta be a lot harder for them.

Thoughts and prayers for everyone in the Flippo family. The Flippos have been friends of my family back to my grandmother, so many many years.
I deeply love them! I feel your pain!
