Another Disturbing "Pentecostal" Video

From Youtube.
It's posted by a "Watchdog" group with commentary.
In this video which runs about seven minutes a woman is in the throes of what I would call "wailing or moaning in the spirit" Whatever spirit THE spirit is.
Watch as they pull out big African type drums and began a beat similar to one found round a campfire thronged with half naked savages in the deepest darkest 19th century Africa.
Will your stomach turn as the womans wailing begins to take on that same beat????
I confess: It sickened me so I could not finish it. Maybe you are stronger than I.
This is all under the ministry of Rick Joyner.
Some of you are probably fans (I'm expecting to hear from New Albany)
Wana watch????

I was suprised at the ages, seems like a young church.
Never heard of Rick Joyner before, but if some of the scrolling tidbits of what he believes are true, I'd not go there.

We are facing a HUGE delima in the christian world today. This video and along with others like Bentley etc are making a huge issue for us.
Three major problems that this is bringing upon us with these type of services and also the prosperity movement is
1. These that are operating under the flesh and speaking things that are unscriptural make people who are not familiar with things like "speaking in tongues" or things that pertain to Pentecostalism as being a falsehood or of the devil.
In other words they would lump us ALL in that category and assume we are all this way.
2. Some Pentecostals fear having the Lord move in the service because of the flesh and then you NEVER see the gifts of the spirit operate any longer. They may belong to a pentecostal denomination or a church that claims to believe in these things but it never takes place in their services. Nobody ever seeking for the baptism of the Holy Ghost, Never having Message Interpretations etc.
The thought has become that they almost fear it and call it all flesh
3. Prosperity has now made many believing that the gospel is really about money and getting rich. Many claiming that they must sow a certain seed to get rich, or a house, a car etc.
When the bible explains that he will bless when we give but we are not to give to recieve, that is the wrong intentions.
Todd Bentley made it more prevalent to the world and many now believe that is how we all are, very sad. The bible says forbid Not to speak in tongues. Quench not the spirit. However there is instruction on M/I and speaking in tongues. The flesh is a scary and disturbing thing.
I felt like this was evil!!!
I have a question and I am not wanting to turn this into a doctrine thread but do you believe the Lord can move and the spirit has moved upon people but when that has passed and someone then keeps it going and is operating in the flesh, do you believe the devil has then influenced it?

I've seen a lot of strange stuff in my lifetime, but I think that tops it all.

Me too Rahab
I could not watch all of it either. I do not believe it was of God.

I watched it all. Where's my gold star?
It was ludicrous, nuts and just a little over the top.

I have sat in on many native American rituals, some of which are not very public - and that is the thought I had as well, Free.
my interpretation (ignoring all the text in the video): emotionalism manipulation.

Was anybody else reminded of a Zeppelin song while they listened?

This is so stupid,it makes people ashamed to be called Pentecostals. It looks more like witchcraft, and I couldn't watch it all. I am sure God is not pleased with this type of worship.

Honestly, if I were "high" it would have all made perfect sense!

1 John 4:1 (KJV) "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world."

First of all, Rick Joyner is not a pentecostal....he is a charasmatic....big difference.
Aside from that, the "worship" is not that different than some I have encountered in the cultures out side of this country. While I may not agree with what we all saw, I can say that that did not disturb me. It actually reminded me of many a night at the GA when the Bahama Brass Band would play everyone into a spiritual ecstacy and people would be jumping up and down (I did the same as a child as those kids) and running around the building, gyrating, falling in the floor...and the tamborines played on.....
Most of you are not old enough to remember or have knowledge of the "heritage" we all so proudly exhault. I am not ashamed, but I can tell you that what you saw was just a throw back to former days.
That kind of thing will always bring the crowds. Eddie Mounce, Carey Cox, Bobby Montgomery, Me, and a host of others used to "play without ceasing" during altar services that lasted for hours.
And maybe none of you ever witnessed a Friday night Healing Service at the GA in the really old tabernacle. The BBB played till they dropped. Their drum cadence was many times like the one you see in the video.
So that part didin't offend. It is the theology that makes me sick.

Maybe that explains why I kind of liked the drum beat.
