What songs did your church sing yesterday on Easter Sunday? Our choir sang "Saved the Day" and "Crown Him with Many Crowns" and in worship, we heard "My Redeemer Lives" and for some reason I'm blanking on the others.

"My Redeemer Lives", "On Wings of Living Light" and my favorite "Christ the Lord Is Risen Today", as you can tell I am very traditional, I love the old hyms.

Opened with congregation singing At Calvary and Amazing Grace. Soloist sang I'll Rise Again (Dallas Holmes) with the congregation singing The Old Rugged Cross after the first verse, He Arose after the second verse, and a video of Chris Tomlin's I Will Rise after the last verse. We also sang Because He Lives and as the invitation There's Room at the Cross for You. A more traditional list of songs than usual for us.

Where I went, they sang "Alive, Alive, Alive Forevermore..." - you know the one. And, a couple of choruses I didn't recognize. And, right before that they'd had some kind of melodramatic a la Karen Wheaton thing with teens in black t-shirts in some sort of choreographed motions (if it was sign language, it was not much of it but was something else I'm not sure of) and lip synching song (I just don't like that stuff) and a very abbreviated enactment of the crucifixion and resurrection rolled into it complete with masked demons being chased off (I never have understood that fascination with that, either ---- my daughter later asked, "Were those supposed to be ghosts?").

All of that wore on my nerves immensely. Then, at the end of the choir's praise and worship, they sang Nothing But The Blood of Jesus a capella. My eyes about burned out of my head as I tried to hold the tears back, which I managed to hide in part.
