The web site looks nice, but why does your church have two names separated by the backslash? Is there a significance for both of them that precluded you from using one or the other.
Just curious...not trying to insult anyone. Just makes for a mouthful when you read the entire name of the church (eight words!).

I'm not the Pastor, but the name originated when a merger took place of our church and another church about 18 months ago. I've only been going for about 6months. Anyway, I believe, but could be wrong, that they are just allowing the new name, New Beginnings to sink in. Ultimately, I would think it would be known only as New Beginnings, but I don't know.

Isn't Pastor Bill the pastor ??? Don't Joey and Kenya attend there?
Seems like I remember that building being the one they attended.

No, but it is not too far from us. This is in Somerset Pastor Rob is the pastor at this church, I'm at New Life in Waynesburg about 20 miles north of there (on the same road).
Joey and Kenya are no longer attending CoGoP, but are working in another Church in Somerset.

It's been almost a year now, early summer I think was I think their last Sunday with us, but it was not a decision made lightly, They had been praying about it for awhile. They are still in church and working hard for the Kingdom, just a different sign over the door.

Amen, Be effective where ever you are planted by God.
Btw.. on the long name.. it's time for a serious meeting and coming under one umbrella as they say. One or the other etc. Sounds like one doesn't want to submit?
On submission

The church that merged with Southside wasn't called "New Beginnings". Rob can address why both names better than I, but I beleive that it was part of the initiative to spark a "new beginning" mark in the church. That name may better represent the ministry emphasis in the church rather than a church name. I believe that it will catch hold and will ultimately become the official name.
