The COG reallocation of resources meeting is being streamed live right now at http://www.leeuniversity.edu/video/default.aspx

They are dropping from 15% to 10% from churches that gets sent to state and international offices..

Is the COGOP having to do anything similar? Just wondering..

We send 10% to HQ (Cleveland)required

Each state has its own system to support the state office. We send ours 5% voluntarily.

yup, 10% of the tithe to HQ, and 2% to the state, after pastor salary has been met.

Brandon, don't take this as smart alecky, because I don't mean it that way. But, why does it matter what COG does? That's them. COGOP is its own deal in terms of money, etc. I read that question on the forum front page and thought, "That sounds like Alabama and Auburn fans going, 'Alabama did this, so what are you gonna do, Auburn?'" and vice versa. Truth is, they play each other once a year for 3 hours. One's universe doesn't revolve around the other (although, you wouldn't know it by listening to most of us here, including me too often).

But, seriously and respectfully, should COGOP react by saying, "Hey, look what COG is doing? That's a good idea, let's do it, too." OR, should they be true to the mission that seems to be being cast and not really look for bandwagons from the bigger organization in town. Am I off base, here?

Also, COGOP just came through a decade or better transition in structure (still ongoing to a degree). I'm not sure to what extant that has happened financially with regards to TOT and such, but they have had huge structural changes overall.

You make a great point.. I dont' think the COGOP follows the heels of the COG or anything like that..

I was just curious because I really don't know much about the COGOP, other than it comes from the COG roots, and has some similar structure.

I'm glad the COGOP is doing what it's doing. You guys seem to be doing great.

Many would say it's the other way around, but yes it was a church split back in the 20's
