We just sorted through 8 baskets of clean laundry.
It had:
99 shirts
65 pants/shorts
55 underwear/panties
76 socks
15 stray socks
2 sheets
1 quilt
1 pillowcase
1 pillow
2 jackets
2 loads still washing and drying
3 loads left
I didn't get to all the bedding.
And we didn't count the 3 baskets of towels!
The kids have to take baths tonight which will produce 3 more loads of laundry between the whites, darks, and towels! AHHHHHHHHH!!
They need a new setting on washers! The VICIOUS CYCLE!
I wash, dry, sort, fold, and Caetie puts them up! Thank God for Caetie!

I cannot imagine doing that much laundry. I would be sending out for help or leaving home.

You are amazing lady....
When I was growing up, we all had to use the same towel....and the same bath water.
Since my mom washed outside in a black kettle (all for the Lord and his Glorious church) ...so we were very cautious.
Kudos to you ....and I will speak to DAnny about taking some of that off your plate.

You need a closet/laundry room with at least two of each. Like that one really big family. Don't even bother carrying the laundry to bedrooms just find your clothes and change right there in the dressing room.
My laundry has increased since everyone changes clothes all the time, the boys are always playing basketball and taking showers. It is hard to keep up sometimes. I used to do one load a day, now it is at least two; extra on the weekends.

I guess I don't understand.
I have been doing my own laundry, ironing, cleaning my room, since I was 10 years old.
My mother never packed a suitcase for me...my wife has never packed for me.....I never bring dirty clothes home. I wash them before I leave from a vacation. I will wash all our clothes (including my wife's) on the last day of our cruise. When we get home the only dirty clothes I will have are the ones I wore home.
We have never had a laundry basket in 44 years of marriage. (Diaper pail exception) ..we take our dirty laundry directly to the washer and when it is full whoever gets there turns it on. Same with the dryer...and with folding and putting away.
Granted we only had two sons, but we didn't wash their clothes after they were 12. They were responsible for that. They are great husbands btw...
I know everyone can't do the way we do, but it is the most fair way to keep one person from having to go crazy with all that washing.

That's great, but each family has its own dynamics. In our case, Amy made the decision to forego working outside the home when Tori was born (her choice) and made the home her domain. She prefers to take care of all basic cooking, cleaning and laundry, depending upon me to provide income for the family. Her chosen role and preferred division of responsibilities.

PG, I certainly understand that each family has different dynamics.
My wife didn't work for most of our marriage. My habits were learned from my mentors while on the road. You certainly were taught to take care of yourself in the Army.
I choose to continue to do what I do, just to help my wife. I still would not want her to pack for me. If I forget something,it's on me....if she forgets it...well she is melancholy...that would devistate her.....
Anyway...I was just showing another side.....and Cats does an amazing job with her kids and home. They are here on time every Sunday. They have to get 8 people ready for church......one bath....
I tell anyone who says they are late because they have to get two kids ready, to look at Danny and Wen.....
I still think all men need to know how to do laundry and should be very active in the household chores.....makes for good nights.....

I think that Wendy would tell you that it is easier the more kids you have. I have two and I sure don't have the organizational skills she has. Plus, she has a Caetie!
